Additional Notes

Severity of the Issue:

I have been battling these issues relentlessly since October 2023, and Epic Games has not provided any meaningful support or resolution. Despite submitting numerous tickets, providing detailed descriptions of the errors, and spending countless hours reinstalling, verifying files, and troubleshooting, I have received no response or effective resolution from Epic Games support.

This level of neglect has caused severe stress, as I am unable to work effectively as a Creator. It feels as though my account has been intentionally roadblocked or overlooked. The lack of support is unprofessional, discriminatory, and unacceptable, especially for someone participating in the Creator program.

The fact that Epic Games Launcher fails to install a complete version of Fortnite and Unreal Editor for Fortnite specifically for my Creator account is not only a technical problem but a major disruption to my work as a Creator. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this issue through reinstalls, verifying files, and contacting support, Epic Games has not provided a solution. This issue has persisted since October 2023, creating insurmountable roadblocks in my ability to work as a Creator forcing me to not be able to enjoy anything from Epic Games due to incomplete installation of Epic games softwares as a whole only on my account.

Immediate Resolution:

Fix the missing files, plugins, and dependencies tied to my account.
Investigate backend corruption or misconfigurations causing these errors.

Alternative Solution:

If resolving my account is not feasible, help me create a new account linked to my Social Security Number and transfer my Creator status to this new account.

Acknowledgment and Accountability:

Acknowledge the delay and lack of support over the past year.
Provide transparency on what went wrong and ensure these issues do not recur.

Logs: Thousands of lines of errors are attached, showing missing files, missing directories, and validation failures.
Screenshots: Included detailed examples of directory errors, missing assets, and validation failures.

Urgency: This issue has persisted for over 15 months, and the lack of response from Epic Games has only exacerbated the problem. This is a critical roadblock preventing me from contributing to the Creator program and must be escalated immediately.

Testing with a new account: Testing with a different Epic Games account shows reduced issues, further confirming that the problem is tied to my current account on Epic’s backend.
Impact on Workflow: These issues prevent me from developing or publishing maps, significantly affecting my ability to contribute as a Creator.

Since October I’m experiencing very similar if not the same issue with all of my UEFN projects – of which most contain no Verse code. All of my three Windows 10 Pro 22H2 dev workstations appear to be having the same problem with plain vanilla installation that got auto-updated last year and now looks incomplete although Epic Game Launcher verification detects zero problems.

Yet, after launching UEFN is see these many (42) Load Errors that skip many /Game/Effect packages like:

While trying to load package /Game/Effects/Fort_Effects/Gameplay/Pickups/Effects/NS_Pickup_RareAmbient, a dependent package /Game/Effects/Niagara/DynamicInputs/TimeOfDay/FNTimeOfDayScalar was not available. Additional explanatory information follows:
FPackageName: Skipped package /Game/Effects/Niagara/DynamicInputs/TimeOfDay/FNTimeOfDayScalar has a valid, mounted, mount point but does not exist either on disk or in iostore. The uncooked file would be expected on disk at ‘C:/Epic/Fortnite/FortniteGame/Content/Effects/Niagara/DynamicInputs/TimeOfDay/FNTimeOfDayScalar.uasset’. Perhaps it has been deleted or was not synced?

Since then, I cannot enter any Live Edit or interactive project session in Fortnite as I run into two types of Asset Check issues (600+ in total) like:

LogValkyrieValidation: Error: Soft package /a8210d3a-42c7-90a6-1cc0-a0ae49ff81e0/Levels/Landscape is not referenced by any soft object path in asset …

LogValkyrieValidation: Error: Found disallowed object type /Script/Landscape.Landscape:PersistentLevel.Device_Collectible_Object_V2_C_UAID_3085A9982C48DAEB01_1534714704, Referenced by:content/externalactors/levels/landscape/9/5l/djkx2ltgdvn4drcjg63eou.uasset (Device_Tracker_V2_C),content/externalactors/levels/landscape/0/fo/j3rbhhnzp2wk5k6cvhyvg2.uasset (Device_AnalyticDevice_V2_C), Plugin mount point:/a8210d3a-42c7-90a6-1cc0-a0ae49ff81e0.

I suspect such error is throw for (virtually) all objects and devices in the scene. I puzzled how all my projects seem the have gotten inconsistent on the same date and upgrade of UEFN…

No response yet on these bug reports thus far:

Same here and seems to be getting worse. I hope there is a fix for this. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling with no positive outcome. Missing plugins, files, etc. I’ve tried verifing programs from launcher as well. Nothing seems to work to get the files back. I’m un able to create any games now… this has been like this for months now and I have tried all sorts of fixes… Is there a fix out there that works to get the default program files running again.

Is EPIC going to acknowledge this issue?

the top line gives the error

LogAutoReimportManager : Warning: Unable to watch directory … / … / …
/FortniteGame/Content/ as it will conflict with another watching … / … / … /FortniteGame/Content/.
the two directory paths

C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\FortniteGame
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame

basically, the path
C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\FortniteGame
instead of C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame

The directory is protected therefore looks like two versions of the Fortnite path are installed on two paths like an early version which would need Administrator rights

you must go into Windows File Explorer and change properties to this to visible. This will then allow the installation to complete installation
When looking at my PC
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\UnrealEditorFortnite\Saved\Logs
the Owner is 6 characters and must be US/UK keycode characters no German Umlauts, or other language

You Need to start the installation by right click Epic Games Launcher icon select Advanced and tick/set Run as Administrator
Go into EPGL and System set automatic update and restart EPGL in Administrator

My PC is Windows Home. DO NOT USE domain-based PC Windows Server etc

Is it possible to make a video of how you fixed it? I’m not understanding your steps.

Jimbo! Its so great to hear from you again!
Thank you for taking the time to respond to me.
I have an at home domain server for file storage, but I am not using it for Epic Games, or projects.
The Domain based server is only setup as a mapped network drive to store data irrelevant to the Asus Rog Strix G814 JZ -…

That is strange… Do you mean, to add custom permissions to the folder? Oh ok!
Wait… It looks like all users have full control.
Darn shoot.

C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\FortniteGame

C:\Program Files\Epic Games
All Application packages under “Folder Security” are not set to FULL CONTROL!

Will this cause problems by modifying the security features to FULL CONTROL under “All application packages” or “All Restricted Application Packages”?

Hmmmm. This seems very strange. I definitely want to know what other peoples Epic games Folder securities look like now!
I wonder if I was the security settings for those Security groups are necessary or irrelevant…

Thank you @Jimbohalo10 Please let me know what your thoughts are on this!

hi @BubbleBunz ,
This is hugely complex. Personally not worked on Windows Domains for years.

Looking at your pictures there are potential problems shown in the updated pictures

So that’s a write protection problem that needs fixing, BEFORE installation. Uninstall Fortnite and reinstall after enabling the write access!

Lots of questions about User Names and access.

Your username must be the same across all PC clients PC as the Username on the Server.

My feeling is you have picked as technically difficult as they come

Here is the low level documentation on setting up a share using the Windows command line

The syntax of this command is:

NET SHARE
sharename
          sharename=drive:path [/GRANT:user,[READ | CHANGE | FULL]]
                               [/USERS:number | /UNLIMITED]
                               [/REMARK:"text"]
                               [/CACHE:Manual | Documents| Programs | BranchCache | None]
          sharename [/USERS:number | /UNLIMITED]
                    [/REMARK:"text"]
                    [/CACHE:Manual | Documents | Programs | BranchCache | None]
          {sharename | devicename | drive:path} /DELETE
          sharename \\computername /DELETE

NET SHARE makes a server's resources available to network users. When
used without options, it lists information about all resources being
shared on the computer. For each resource, Windows reports the
devicename(s) or pathname(s) and a descriptive comment associated with it.

sharename Is the network name of the shared resource. Type
NET SHARE with a sharename only to display information
                   about that share.
drive:path Specifies the absolute path of the directory to
                   be shared.
/GRANT:user,perm Creates the share with a security descriptor that gives
the requested permissions to the specified user. This
option may be used more than once to give share permissions
                   to multiple users.
/USERS:number Sets the maximum number of users who can
                   simultaneously access the shared resource.
/UNLIMITED Specifies an unlimited number of users can
                   simultaneously access the shared resource
/REMARK:"text" Adds a descriptive comment about the resource.
Enclose the text in quotation marks.
devicename Is one or more printers (LPT1: through LPT9:)
                   shared by sharename.
/DELETE Stops sharing the resource.
/CACHE:Manual Enables manual client caching of programs and documents
                   from this share
/CACHE:Documents Enables automatic caching of documents from this share
/CACHE:Programs Enables automatic caching of documents and programs
                   from this share
/CACHE:BranchCache Manual caching of documents with BranchCache enabled
                   from this share
/CACHE:None Disables caching from this share

NET HELP command | MORE displays Help one screen at a time.

I am assuming that Windows 11 Has somehow done this. I reinstalled windows and its the same thing. Super wierd. I never manually created another User, however I have a local and i did have a login to windows with an email which online linked my windows account, but I removed that.
I am not sure where to go from here. lol I guess its fine?

hi @BubbleBunz ,
Looking at all the conversations about Windows 11 and connection to other machines. The problem still is that Fortnite must be installed with the EPGL running with “Run as Administrator”,
There is little conversation on setting up a remote drive to install from Windows server to Windows 11.

Fortnite does not support OneDrive and many cloud options remote drives.

Fortnite does not support latency of networks even local versions have to go Epic servers as most of the code is JavaScript.

The only remaining option is installing Fortnite on Windows 11 locally and then connecting to your attached server drive.
The main problem is that all these use the command console commands.

There is no documentation as these were the dark arts and when installing we had to make up
dos/command .bat to add the users individually. Username must the same on both machines

@LumenPower
Honestly I believe it all boils down to Migrating a level that had bugs and was near completion in development phase to a new project, as this somehow leaves Epic Games Microcode unchangeable events behind the scenes in UEFN on the EPG server side. My content.services account shows that I publish an update 2/6/2025 but the Version date assigned to the new publish version (Private and Public) remains 10/26/2023 while it updated the map, the original bugs and platform that the server saves my maps on is outdated and does not align with the Fortnite and UEFN updates.
