v41.20 Known Issues and Pre-Release Updates

Hello Fortnite developers,

V41.20 introduces one known issue from pre-release testing.

When a player is muted in voice chat, they cannot hear other players’ prompts or LLM responses when interacting with LLM-powered characters.

  • Muting a player in voice chat also prevents them from hearing other players’ prompts and the LLM’s responses.
  • Workaround: Unmute the player in voice chat.
  • Fix targeted for v41.30 (July 30)

This is scheduled to be addressed in the next update, later next week.

Sidekick Quest issue

  • We’re looking into an issue where opening up Quests while in a Sidekick game mode may cause the game to crash.
  • We’ll get you an update when we have a fix.

We’ve temporarily disabled the Cuddles & Chaos Quests to prevent the crash from occurring. We’re working to fix this now, and the quests will be available again once this is resolved.

Islands with Sidekicks may crash when players return to the same lobby or join a match in progress.

  • We are investigating an issue where islands with Sidekicks may crash when the player either joins the same lobby or joins a match in progress.
  • As a temporary solution, the player spawns should be placed far from the sidekicks with a separate staging area, and then teleported to the main game area.
  • We will respond here when we have more information, or a fix.
