UEFN NOT STARTING UP

Summary

I recently downloaded uefn for the first time and whenever I launch it… it goes to the initialization window and then closes immediately and back to the epic games launcher. I saw a fix by copying the contents of the Fortnite_studio folder but I can’t find that folder (it is an old fix as epic has fixed it officially) so then I reinstalled uefn and verified the files as well but still the same problem. then I saw a fix to use “-DX11” on launch options that didn’t work as well so I reinstalled both fortnite and uefn again and still the same exact issue

Steps to Reproduce

  • open the launcher
  • run uefn

Expected Result

uefn launches

Observed Result

uefn initialization window pops up and then closes… doesn’t it even go to 1%

Pleas can you install Fortnite as descibed in the link
UEFN will not install correctly from Launcher on any Windows 11 (eleven) version needs to run Elevated "Run As Administrator - Issues and Bug Reporting

I read it but a little confused (also I’m not on windows 11). Should I reinstall uefn and when I first launch it after reinstalling should I go the directory and run it as administration? please tell me

There are a couple of things to try.

Look at this post on Windows Defender and see if Anti Virus is affected similarly.

urc.exe and UE Fortnite binary get wrongly flagged as Malware from Microsoft Defender

Next you need to check that the installation is working
Verify UEFN/Fortniite

These must be “Run as Adminstrator”.
If you are using Epic Games Luncher you must start as “Run as Adminstrator”.

Check that your Project path is NOT on OneDrive, but on a local drive

Please follow the post on how to find and upload the UEFN logs, and upload the into this thread so that we can possibly see there the problem lies.

in step 3 copy the text and paste into the box and this is quite complex
