Summary
Hi, [Solved Windows 11 UEFN 29.10 Install updated procedure ]
Just installed UEFN on Windows 11 it crashed.
Refused to log on with credentials failed,
Compiled Global Shaders failed
unable to create many files
hangs at 95%
Windows 11 has enhanced security to stop files being downloaded etc…
Shutdown the UEFN 29.10
The answer would appear to be to click “Run in Administrator”
open Windows File Explorer at
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64
Steps to Reproduce
On any Windows 11 (eleven) version In Epic Launcher 16.* after install click on the UEFN Launcher for the First time of launch.
First error Refused to log on with credentials failed you do not have the rights to connect to server
Followed by Shutdown UEFN 29.10 cannot continue with login
When you open the “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEditorFortnite-Win64-Shipping.exe” with “run As Adminstrator”
The box pops asking for permission to make changes. Click yes and Installation completes successfully
Expected Result
To be able to install UEFN for the first time from Launcher for the first time withouth the need to run as Administrator on all versions of Windows 11 (eleven)
Observed Result
Will successfully install but only with elevated privilege, which many users wont have
