Ue5.1 Issues with GPU lightmass

Is anyone else having any issues with GPU lightmass in 5.1 ?
In 5.1 where two separate meshes are next to each other (for example with modular walls etc) there are visible differences between the lighting on each mesh which creates a noticable seam/transition between meshes. This wasn’t a problem in 5.0 for me. I am wondering if there are any new settings I need to change ? I have updated to latest graphics drivers etc…

Hi, I have the same problem and I don’t know how to slove it.

I had a look through the specific post for GPU lightmass and the guy who created it seems to be saying not to use it for this release. Shame as I really liked the other improvements in 5.1 but want to offer my users the option of baked lighting if they have lower end machines.

[outdated, as of this post the latest driver version 528.49 seems to work fine] Speaking of the guy who made it, see his post on Nvidia drivers Epic's GPUlightmass - #423 by Luoshuang

I had major issues baking stuff on 5.1 but after finding that post and reverting to the aforementioned 522.25 all my problems went away.

PS: Also I applied this mentioned edit before reverting to the older driver, it didn’t seem to fix anything for me but technically I applied this edit and then reverted my driver after which everything was perfect Epic's GPUlightmass - #417 by Luoshuang

I can report that the current latest Nvidia Driver version 528.49 (tested game ready version, others have said the studio driver works) seems to work fine.

Using 522.25 may now be outdated advice.

EDIT: - per Luoshuang’s recent post. 522.25 is still the recommended driver to use for now because 528.49 still has some problems with certain feature sets.
Although he did mention that Nvidia is aware of the problem and a fix is due to come at some point - His post Epic's GPUlightmass - #445 by Luoshuang

I will keep my posts updated.

Thanks for the info. I have done some tests with the 522.25 driver in 5.1 and it definitely seems to be better although haven’t tested extensively. I’m sticking with 5.0 for the moment then will transition to 5.1 when everything is ready (Soon I hope)

The Creator of GPU Lightmass (Luoshuang) just posted today that he tested Nvidia driver version 531.18 and that it appears to be working as intended according to his tests.

Here is his post Epic's GPUlightmass - #447 by Luoshuang

Excellent, I’ll test with that driver when I get a chance, many thanks again !
