UE 5.1 Default Project Location - Network Drive

I work at a university and I’m packaging UE 5.1
A requirement is for students to save to their network drive. The default Project Location shows up as a UNC path (there is a drive mapping to this location, but it does not use that mapping).

Are there any configuration files to pre-populate this setting with the correct drive so it does not use a UNC path? I’ve seen this question asked on other forum posts, but not answered.

This is a requirement for our teaching spaces as students do not have access to save on local drives.

Project Browser says "The Folder Path is invalid" when I try to make a new project

I use UE4 in a university lab, and the setup means I needed to install on a local windows profile and then switch to my own personal one. I can run the launcher, but when I attempt to make a new project it says that “the folder path is invalid”, presumably because I’m in a different windows user area now. How do I change this to a valid path?

Invaild Folder Path with network user drives

We are starting to use Unreal Engine in a College where the students Document folder is mapped to a network drive. When making a new project there is an error message saying the folder path is invalid and so we can’t create a project. Are you able to create projects and save them on network drives? Thank you.
