Hello @Rango986
To process such dataset could be problematic for photogrammetry, as you are missing the important features.
There are some workarounds, how to process such objects, but probably they won’t work for you.
Hi there, I need a little help
How do I get a flat surface from an original flat surface object an not this rough surface that I got ?
What setting should I use to get something better, more as the original that I have today?
Thanks in advance

Hello, I’m trying to capture a completely flat surface (Like a basketball floor). Is it possible to tell Reality Capture that a surface is flat? Alignment seems okay to my eyes but when I created a mesh, it’s too bumpy. I import a flat plane for texturing, however texture is also messed up and blurry (Especially on the bumpy areas). I’ve read featureless surfaces may cause this but is it the alignment itself faulty here?
How can I tackle this issue in general?
I tried adding GCPs to floor and …
We are frequently asked to identify resources, guidelines and starting points when it comes to leveraging Reality Capture to create rich environments based on the real world by Unreal Engine simulation creators.
While the information is already available in the forums and delivered by tech writers and documentation teams, it looked like a where to start was missing.

I recently tried out scanning an object for a brand we’re working for, I thought adding something 3D will give us a cool edge. So far, I’ve photographed the object (I’ll attach pictures also). I used one globe lantern lighting the object from above, and then a small light on the top of the camera to light the sides. I don’t think this worked too well and will change next time.
I also flattened the images, I watched a YT video and they said to flatten them so you don’t get crazy highlights…

Something “… that’s proved incredibly useful is [an] ability to project photos on to another mesh. I’ve cleaned up a number of rough architectural scans by essentially tracing around the noisy geometry in a modelling program, then reimporting the super-clean mesh … Since I kept the scale and alignment the same, I could get it to reproject the photos on to my new UVs - resulting in low-poly,…
I suppose the best option here will be the combination with the laser scan data.
