Project Title:
Stormtide – Syndicate Rising
Description:
Stormtide is a futuristic racing game designed specifically for motion simulators with custom in-game branding. As lead developer, you would be responsible for:
- Vehicle physics (Chaos)
- Vehicle controller
- AI behavior
- Scoring system
- Damage systems
- Leaderboard scoring
- Telemetry physics
- VR support
Your Unreal Engine experience should include:
- C++ & Blueprints: A deep knowledge of native C++ is required for writing custom, high-performance game logic, while visual scripting (Blueprints) is essential for rapid iteration and design.
- The Gameplay Framework: Familiarity with core Unreal classes (Actor, Pawn, Character, GameMode, and Controller).
- 3D Math & Physics: Understanding of vector math, quaternions, and integration with Unreal’s physics engine or Chaos.
- Tools: Proficiency with diagnostics tools like Unreal Insights and RenderDoc.
- Modern Features: Understanding of Unreal’s specific rendering pipelines and systems (e.g., Nanite and Lumen).
- UI & Systems: Experience implementing Slate/UMG for UI, AI behavior trees, or animation state machines.
- Version Control: Competence with Perforce (helix core) or Git with Large File Storage (LFS).
- Collaboration: Because Unreal is used across disciplines, you must be able to communicate effectively with artists, designers, and audio engineers.
