[FORUMS] Editing Bug Reports Causes Escalation Issues

Hey folks!

We can escalate posts in the Issues and Bug Reporting forum to create a ticket for us to view. This makes it easy for us to get more information from you and for the developers to see exactly what the issue is.

If you edit your post, we could lose the ability to escalate so we won’t have a ticket attached to your post. If you have any additional information you need to share, please reply instead of editing the first post in the thread.

Thank you so much for your bug reports, they are so helpful and appreciated!

Just wondering as i have done many times can we still edit the post to change the title for either spelling mistakes or a more informative title ?

Thanks in advance assuming someone would ask this.

Can you please clarify how you see replies on your end? Sometimes the original post might have mistakes or missing things, so I naturally update it, but I always wondered if any of it was reflected on your end.

Changes are not reflected after a post is escalated to a ticket. We only see the original post in the ticket. The team will come back and check, but they are mostly looking for new posts. It’s best to give any new info in a new post, even if you notice a change or an update right after you post.

Interesting! I believe every issue I submitted I had to edit. Maybe I could log new issues in some “draft” space and then move it to Bug reports section and then it is not editable? or apply some tag?

Unfortunately, no, other forums don’t have the same formatting. :frowning:

This really just doesnt make sense. Instead of fixing the issue with being not able to edit a bug report without it getting lost, we are being told to make duplicate posts and flood the forums? Would it not make more sense to fix the root issue?

Hi @SGSensei

We’re asking that you don’t edit the first post. If you need to add more information, please reply to the same thread.
