Critical: High Ping and Lag With Maps That Have Larger Areas To Play In

Been ages and yet no update or fix.
This makes UEFN maps unplayable and makes people not want to play due to the extreme amounts of lag. we need this fixed ASAP!

They gave us an update that they’re working on it 2 days ago, this thread isn’t silent on updates. It definitely sucks, but they’re aware of the negative effect it’s having on players (can’t play certain maps) and creators (losing 10’s to 100’s of thousands of dollars)

I had to roll-back the 2.0 update for Capture The Flag which had 3 maps players could vote on to play.
The update was literally unplayable and lost weeks of work because of this, along with all mommentum related to the update on social media and on the community.

Pretty please with sugar on top fix this bug in 29.40 :slight_smile: We really really need this resolved, 3 weeks of high ping and lag has set so many people so far backwards in plays.

This is still not fixed. We are holding off on multiple game releases until this problem is taken care of. That’s how serious it is. Our maps affected by this have decreased in retention and player count A TON. We need updates asap please.

I don’t quite understand why they are releasing a bunch of updates for Patchwork Audio Device when this problem is still active.

This should be priority one. Don’t we want Fortnite Creative to get bigger and more ambitious? Maps with hundreds of hours of work are going down the drain, meanwhile, a copy-paste Red VS Blue experience doesn’t present these problems, because of course, they are very simple maps that don’t even come close to the potential of UEFN.

I am very displeased with the lack of urgency that (it seems) is being put on this problem.

Don’t want to interrupt but I feel like it would be better to do a hotfix instead of waiting for a big release (30.0?), unless it’s what you’re actually aiming for

Glad to hear its being fixed but if we have to wait 2-3 more weeks for this fix, that’s just unacceptable. Our games have been crippled for four weeks straight; I personally have had a 98% loss in players because they don’t want to play a lag-filled mess.

I can’t foresee a successful future for this “ecosystem” Epic are pushing if we can’t create anything that pushes the bar in any notable direction without it being subject to such severe issues for 1/12th of the year. Huge respect to all of you guys developing UEFN and such, I just think us creators need more support than we have right now.

A hotfix would be better. Waiting for the next update. Already waited enough. It’s really not fun to play everyday with this problem

you should push the update as soon as you get a fix as it is pushing players away from maps with this issue.

if we do have to wait another 3-4 weeks i feel that every map affected by this should be pushed onto discovery so they have a change of re-gaining their playercount.

I’ve been facing this issue as well, higher ping in zone war maps and there is delay in early game of every ranked game (unranked is normal),50 ping feels like 100ping when building on editing.

as people get eliminated in ranked game the delay appears to drop, by the time theres 5-10 people it feels normal 50 ping (just like in unranked).

This problem was not there in Chapter 4 or before or in Fortnite OG. Only started in Chapter 5.

I really hope it gets fixed in the next update because its affecting my maps and ranked games

Fortnite Status on Twitter just confirmed an update next week on May 14th, is this upcoming release going to include a fix for this issue?
