The entire car customization is broken in Fortnite Creative. Car decals don’t show up in creative maps. The decals are visible only in your locker when you are in the lobby. You can’t see them when you enter a car in creative maps, even if you have decals equipped and even if the spawner can change the default car to your custom car.
I paid for my car and I want to see the decals on it in-game. Also, I want to change my car body to a different one in changing booths in creative maps, and this is broken too. What should I do?
I tested this on PC, Android (mobile phone) and even on a different account and the result is still the same everywhere. The car only changes to your car body when you enter it, but without any other customization and you can’t change it in-game like before. It’s just bugged or like broken.
I have my own creative map, and that’s where I noticed this problem at first. I found out that this is a big problem for my map, because there are cars everywhere and players can drive them wherever they want. And If they see their car in this state, there is a bigger chance they will leave the map, because they maybe want to roleplay or enjoy the graphics with their car, not see a bugged car. It breaks the player experience, and I’m sad because I can’t fix it myself and because players can’t see/customize their own car as they want and probably paid for.

Jump into any Creative 2.0 Map with car spawners like Whiplash and SUV.
(Spawners must support transformation to your own car with customizations)
Enter any car or SUV
Expected Result
Your transformed car shloud have decals, boost and trails you set on it.
You can at any time change your car customization in Changing Booths If the map has one.
Observed Result
Car/SUV customization like decals, boost and trails will not show up on your transformed car.
Also if you’re in Changing Booth, the entire car customization screen is just broken and you don’t see any your items you paid for.
This is a bug that effects multiple creative maps with thousands of players each that have cars in them, and makes people lose access to several types of cosmetics they’ve either paid vbucks for or grinded rocket passes for. Please reconsider backlogging this.
Exactly, I don’t understand how such a major issue hasn’t been fixed within two updates by now. I was reading your post @ChesseTheWasp about a month ago because I had the same problem, and for my map this bug was serious and devastating (it was basically the main feature being able to drive your car). Because of that, I decided to create another post with more information and hopefully with better visibility and reach.
I also spoke to Player Support and they marked it as a bug that they would look into, but to this day nothing has happened.
It’s affecting not only developers who are playtesting and enjoying their maps or they’re trying to record game trailers with cars in-game. It’s also affecting players and their items and customizations on cars that they’ve bought with real money and V-Bucks, or like you were saying @ChesseTheWasp, they’ve grinded for. I was focusing more on further development of my map because I believed this will get fixed soon, but seeing this serious Bug Backlogged forced me to do more about it and respond on it at least in this way.
We need to do something about it. Epic Games, if you’re seeing this, please we need to get fix this issue.
It’s still happening in 39.51 and It’s terrible.
To clarify, this only happens if your creative map is Published or just on Private versions. You have set up a custom car with custom boost and trails in lobby. You’ve sit into a Whiplash or SUV that supports custom cars and customizations.
The edit session is fine, so that’s why probably none of the Epic staff noticed, otherwise it would be very strange that they would leave a paid mechanic broken.
After 40.00 Update the Car Customization bug is even worser. It’s still don’t let you see your boosts, trails, or decals but now you have additional visual bug on top of your car instead of your decal. If this bug wasn’t such a big issue before 40.00, now its a MAJOR ISSUE. I don’t wanna see my car like this, like what is even that?
I noticed that one part of this bug, the Car Customization screen in Changing Booths on Creative maps was fixed in 40.00. So thats one good thing, but still the other part of this bug remains.
+ Another texture bug appeared on your cars in creative if you have selected any decal. Also Cars have worser ambient occusion or something that makes them look not that good like before. And some cars have black texture bugging slightly in their exhausts when you are driving, but that is not that bad. (for example my Mclaren Senna).
Having multiple bug reports of the same issue will not be helping the situation. The more votes it receives the more priority it is given.
In future it is preferable if you search the bug in the search box first then just upvote/comment ect it keeps bugs to a single report and limits confusion whilst increasing vote count and thus priority.
