Hi @OohWowow

This is a crash problem caused by a shortage of memory. Exception address 000xxx.

When a large manual virtual Memory page file is added, the crash does not occur.

The workaround would be to add a 64GB (64000 MB)

How to add a 64GB pagefile.sys manually

You may need a file with a capacity of even more than 128GB (128000), but it must reside on an SSD.

Some devs have a spare fast SSD drive allocated to just holding only this page file, but it’s much cheaper than another 128GB RAM!

The status of FORT-1019017 changed to ‘Needs Triage’. We’ve confirmed the issue and it’s waiting to be assigned to someone to fix it.

@OohWowow please attach the editor log when you report crashes, there’s not much we can do without them. This crash does not reproduce in UEFN 38.11 with a simple island project.

Hi all,

Just tested on 38.11 with the UEFN Feature Example Alpha Tycoon, this function now works without an extra page file. The extra page file makes the UEFN project load 20% quicker on my pc, and UEFN 38.11 loads 20% quicker, just like the standard UE 5.7 Engine, which UEFN is based on.

@mihneabalta are you just looking for the editor log summary presented in the crash window as text?

even following the most-recent update, I am still seeing the Blank template crash when opening the audit tools. here is the summary I see

if there is another way to attach the rest of the log files, let me know and I will include them

I’ve been receiving this same error too, but happened randomly when I closed UEFN one time and then tried to open it. I’m unable to access the project as of right now. Been having problems to load the umap too, strange.

Hi @OohWowow

Here is the post about sending logs

How to get your Fortnite logs - General / Issues and Bug Reporting - Epic Developer Community Forums

BTW. This is my Task manager

here are the zipped editor logs

Logs.zip (10.4 MB)

I updated my virtual memory file to be 64GB as explained by this guide, but I am still seeing crashes on launching the audit tools

Hi @OohWowow ,

Your PC has from the logs “Created a D3D12 device for NVENC on ‘NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070’ “.

There is an issue with drivers for RTX 50-series GPUs

RESOLVED: Known issues with NVIDIA 576.02 drivers on RTX 50-series GPUs | Epic Developer Community

If you don’t want to update drivers the use DirectX 11.

To enable DirectX 11:

1. Open the Epic Games Launcher
2. Go to the Store Library page
3. Locate your “Unreal Editor for Fortnite installation”
4. Select the ellipses (three dots icon) for More Options
6. Select Manage
7. Enable the toggle for Launch Options and enter -d3d11 in the text field

8. Click ok and then launch as usual with Quick Launch

For Epic Support Engineers, the log message is

[2025.11.24-15.39.57:866][236]LogRenderer: Recreating Persistent SBTs due to initializer changes:
NumShaderSlotsPerGeometrySegment changed: current: 1 - new: 2
NumGeometrySegments changed: current: 0 - new: 512

The crash message is

[2025.11.24-15.42.06:008][278]LogSlate: Warning: Slate: Had to block on waiting for a draw buffer

The above is a GPU rendering error . Last time, this was a DX12 (DirectX 12) error

The next lines are the crash data

[2025.11.24-15.42.08:781][278]LogWindows: Error: === Critical error: ===
[2025.11.24-15.42.08:781][278]LogWindows: Error:

My PC can ONLY use DX11, so that’s why mine works

I updated my GPU drivers, and tried on both DX11 and DX12. Audit tools still cause crashes regardless.

hi @OohWowow ,

The only post that seems to cover these rendering crashes is

Any version crash!!! - Development / Programming & Scripting - Epic Developer Community Forums

Have you tried both NVIDIA Studio drivers AND NVIDIA Game drivers?

There are two sets, and before users found that one type worked with Unreal Engine 5 and the others did not.

Just have to wait for Epic Support. Sorry, it’s out of my depth now

hi @OohWowow

Just try my version of the blank audit tools project, unzip this project into

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Fortnite Projects

Open UEFN

then open the project, UEFN will rant on about not being in UEFN - Content Service

and not the right Verse path etc, just keep clicking open

When open, go straight to Tools → Audit → Statistics

If it crashes, upload the latest log file so we can all look at this.

MyBlankForAuditTest.zip (53.5 KB)

MyBlankForAuditTest.rar (53.7 KB)

Just looked at the look again. My Launcher/UEFN runs as Administrator

someone on our team was able to open audit tools without crashing. however, when they selected “Actor Memory Stats” from the dropdown, that DID cause the editor to crash.

deleting the folder contained at:

\AppData\Local\UnrealEditorFortnite

allows the audit tools to launch without crashing. however, trying to change the drop down option to “Actor Memory Stats” will cause a crash

Hi this fails on my UEFN 38.11
Tried on UE5.7 standard engine, the option to “Actor Memory Stats” doesn’t exist
@OohWowow started a new thread. Your team will need to vote this up to get this fixed, possibly
