Zoom in viewport without changing the camera Location or focal length? ie zoom (and pan) in a locked camera view in editor.

Zoom in viewport/“viewfinder” without changing the camera Location or focal length? Just to check how objects match etc. Very simple in Blender for example. But cant find out how in UE

using a 2d scene capturer and oversize it over the screen seems like stupid workaround?

as discussed here:

more or less a magnifying glass in the locked camera view

Are you talking about the game, or the editor?
In editor you can use mouse scroll to zoom, or hold RMB and use W, or S to zoom in / out.

For in game, here is the video that should help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wDz4vPXocw

in editor.

I have a locked camera but would like to move some static mesh actors very precisely in relation to camera position, focal etc

Then mouse scroll is the way to go for you.

but it is a locked camera.

Scrolling only works as in zooming, in perspective or unlocked camera.

but in editor

I wish to be able to zoom in into the camera view.

or is there some key command?

Ah sorry. I am not aware if this is possible. By my logic, when you pilot the camera, you should see exactly what that camera sees. Using Zoom, without changing Focal Length or moving the camera, itself does not make sense. It would the mislead the user of thinking everything is setup correctly, jus tto be wrong when camera is not piloted anymore.

I can be wrong though about this :).

it is more or less a magnifying glass in the locked camera view im locking for.

common tool in for example blender.

im a beginner but ought to work easier than having to use a 2d scene capturer and oversize it over the screen

bump.

zoom in camera viewport without changing the perspective.

Like overscan (but underscan). Basic stuff in Blender for example. Must be a simple way?

also no way to “render region” nowadays?

as discussed in this thread:

Hey! Did you ever find a solution to this? I find it super frustrating as well not to be able to have a closer look. Same in Maya, super easy with the 2d/pan zoom. But nothing in Unreal, can’t get my objects to fit like I want to.

no nothing satisfying, had to use blender for precision!

This is such a basic feature… there has to be a solution for it!?
