I know object space normal is somewhat out-dated in game industry, but it has its pros.
Say tangent normal map is great when the mesh is animated, but when the mesh is static, Object space normal has far more advantages.
It won’t have any shading problem even on low resolution. Which tangent space normal will have lots of problem if the res is not enough.
I wish object space normal support can be added, or is it already there?
And since object space normal lack of some edibility, would it be better to just make it an option solely for the static mesh component? It works almost like a part of the static mesh itself. Putting it in the material editor seems won’t have any advantage.
Maybe I am asking too much, but
Keep up the good work, Epic!
