Ive been working on a low poly style cave system using Blender, i made sure that there was no gaps in the mesh but light still looks like its just passing through a gap, im really lost on what to do

I think your lightmap resolution is too low. (if you build your lights)
i cut the mesh into two bits, i think there were too many polygons in one lightmap
