There is a user selling stolen assets on Fab that I have proof of Copyright Infringement and Theft. Yet the person in charge of reviewing reports is an incompetent moron. They are complicit in allowing stolen assets to be on the Fab store.
If this issue is not addressed, I have seen a few members threaten to contact their lawyers over this.
This might be similar to the issue of stolen content but is about the ineffective people in charge of reviewing and making decisions about reports.
I have a bunch of reports from before that were all closed without any action taken on the offending party. What is the point of such an ineffective reporting system?
Same with the review process (and subsequent reports). One “creator” uploaded about 2,000 clearly “AI-slop” 3D assets. Most of them are barely recognizable shapes, yet they aren’t even marked as “Generated with AI” and pollute the entire marketplace, without any option to filter them out. This goes against the T&C but nothing is done about it. I have reported about 50 of the assets, got tired after that. All have been closed with
No Action Taken
After a thorough review, we determined that the content reported does not violate Epic’s rules or any laws.
I mean just look at this f*** garbage:
People buy this by mistake, that’s all.
Exactly, these issues go hand in hand. There are no safeguards over anyone’s assets or artwork getting stolen. The people running Fab seem to encourage this criminal behaviour by not having any safeguards in place or an effective reporting system.
I complained at length about this on day 1 and now the situation has gotten out of hand despite all the warnings. People on other platforms are already spreading the message about Fab which is how it came to my attention yet again.
This was my day 1 post on Reddit for the exact same issue. As you can see they have greatly improved Fab since then. In favor of the scammers and AI bots.

lol, ive seen assets being sold for very well known ips (by a random person).
i mean nintendo-size ips.
on fab.
imagine buying a “yoshi” and then getting sued by nintendo. except that that happened to someone. (not through fab though i think)
reviews seems to be done by ai or something.
i tried submitting plugins to the store, but got tired of the review process being really terrible.
btw i think you’d have more success with one thread with many posts than multiple threads.
this way you can gain votes with time. but that’s just my opinion.
I think those reports are reviewed automatically by some kind of ai.
You can appeal the decision and put your reasoning in that. Then it takes a bit more time, so I suspect that there is a person involved in this.
But the whole system of reporting IMO is broken. It feels like the goal of it was to reduce cost for Epic of handling the reports and that system accomplishes that. But it doesn’t solve the the problem that people report.
What’s I find also very bad about this reporting system is:
- there is no history of content of the reports available for us
- there is no notification at all from the system: you have to actively check the system to see if anything has been done with your report.
This. Everything seems to be automated in FAB, submission process of new assets, reports, “quality control”, etc.
The FAB team must really hate working for Epic, I can’t imagine any other reason to make so much of an effort in destroying it’s reputation.
Hey everyone!
Thank you all for taking the time to share your concerns about the reporting process. We recognize that this situation can be quite frustrating, and your feedback is invaluable. Please know that we are committed to ensuring your voices are heard, and we have passed your feedback on to the team. Your experiences is important to us, and we appreciate your patience as we work towards improvements.
Thanks!
Is someone going to ban the accounts stealing from other Fab artists and reselling as their own? I have proof of this and the reports did nothing. I also have proof that the community has spammed this account with reports and the reports did nothing.
He’s still stealing and reposting things! Why are they not banned? Is Fab/Epic condoning this behavior?
lol just checked his asset a single item is like 500 000 polygon. and absolutely free copyright… right ?
Lol they dont even hide it :
i didnt put them all but i found like 40 of them among like 400 assets all posted like 2 day ago…
Hello blizzard !
There should at least be a limit of how much asset you can send per day/week. a real asset will take like 2 - 4 day minimum of work for a realy small one…
Or a limit of minimum meshes a few year ago i got a asset refused cause there was less than 70 meshes in it…
Plus the fact some of them are in wrong categories like smart assets.
It’s funny to be refused an asset because I misspelled a word in the documentation or because I said an asset was loosely inspired by a game.
And meanwhile, people can sell assets with a logo or a famous AAA name in it…
Hey,
We have received multiple reports of this today across various platforms, and this particular case has been resolved.
Thanks!
Hey there @arcadebox, just wanted to let you, and other folks know that we’re aware of this and are working on addressing it. A more detailed post will be coming soon.
It literally takes 2 minutes to ban him, why does it need weeks or months to be addressed ? Also what happened to requirements to become a seller? Both sketchfab and unreal had a process where you are checked by a real person. Why is everyone able to do this so easily now?
For many people it’s the opposite problem. Their valid submissions are being declined while these scammers are allowed to auto submit hundreds of stolen assets and thousands of AI generated garbage. Something that would take a human literally years to simply submit that many and they can do it in seconds using a script and AI.
Thanks @SkyeEden
i just want to add that the process for submission to fab is so bad currently, and the reviews are so so bad, that i actually decided not to publish anything at all. and i’m not going to do so until it improves.
i have 9+ plugins plus some content. Jeronimo Barraco-Marmol - Codeberg.org (and more on github)
i’ve spent a month or so to submit one plugin and was rejected 5 times or more with really nonsensical errors, and when i asked for information twice i never got a reply.
Please please please, improve this.
thanks so much for letting us know that you’ve acknowledged the feedback, that makes the world of difference.
yups my case. which is beyond unfair. and can’t help to be emotionally affected.
agree 100% and it’s happening when reporting bugs to the engine, or contributing code as well. it’s terrible. the quality is declining rapidly.
please epic, this can be improved and i think we need it.
i’ve also found that reporting posts here on the forum itself takes months. i’m tired of seeing all those phishing/scammy apk links.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
We have taken action against the 41k AI assets that were added over the course of just a few days. And we are implementing a number of other improvements. More details here: Update on products generated with AI
@EN6A6E the person you linked to regarding stolen assets has no more content online on Fab.
On the other items raised: I totally understand that anything to do with a review process not working well can be very frustrating. Either it letting through things that clearly shouldn’t be let through, or blocking things that are legit is a very frustrating experience and indeed unfair. I can assure you there are people involved, but it is also a problem of scale and volume. That leads to things going wrong at times. That is not an excuse, but making sure that everything runs smoothly and nothing goes off the rails at the scale of something like Epic or Fab sure isn’t easy I can tell from personal experience being in the midst of all of it every day.
I am raising the review and moderation processes with that team and will also ping them this thread.
@nande would you be up for private messaging me the rejections you received?
The reporting process could use a bit more information and verification behind it. Only having 3 report options to choose from and none of them being related to certain TOS infractions is limiting.
There is more using Stylescape name: Fab

Awesome thanks!!!
thanks so much. i tend to delete and move on frequently, but i’ll check if i still have some emails.
