I apologize this definitely not where this should be reported but i wasn’t sure what to label it as so I just put bug. But since the start of the new season we are missing a vehicle from creative mode device gallery. The files of the B.R.U.T.E. from Season X OG exist in the game , but despite that and its updates to the new unreal engine 6 it hasn’t make it in creative mode . Also despite that it misses at settings exist to be able to change the keys on the keyboard settings
The Brute was intentionally removed in Chapter 2 Season 6 from Creative and the game itself due to multiple bugs it had. This is not a valid bug report. @Flak can this be closed?
Got recreated from the scratch this update due to the reason that you talked about, it’s not the 2019 code. See it at Fmodel. Same happened with Zapotron and Guided Missile. Intentionally they got excluded but they got added finally in the weapon gallery. Same happens here. Before I write something I do my research. You can check it at the Fmodel. The 2019 code is a forgotten memory. In Season X OG what you see is a recreation of it
The BRUTE is notoriously known for having issues in Creative. That’s why it was removed from there first then not long after the game itself. Just cause Epic redid some code for OG doesn’t mean it has a shot at coming back. Epic took it out for a reason. That reason may still be in effect internally. Who knows. Nearly the entire game is built from code that can’t be seen in things like FModel. It’s internal coding could still be as bad as it was in 2019.
Same happened with Zapotron and Guided Missile, they were excluded and they got added at last (not the 2017 and 2018 ones but the recreated versions of them ) So be more accepting. Technology gets evolved, there’s no 2019 , also the bugs now due to that are fixed. So it’s a new vehicle with new ID. And along with Guided Missile they are aware about these glitches so that’s why the Guided Missile has no glitches. Also Tim Sweeney said in 2023 that they would not add it back only if they plan to make it return. Here we are. also they said indefinitely, not permanently. Also it’s a bug because its files exist now in the game but recreated and not implemented in creative mode. The Salvaged Brute is actually the 2019 mech but with different textures, what you see in the files is a vehicle that imitates the mech of 2019. Also epic games excluded Guided Missile and Zapotron for a reason but now we have them in creative mode. The “reason” since it got recreated is irrelevant now. Notoriously bugged was the Guided Missile too, but it finally got added in creative mode. In creative mode we have the new “BikeKid” version of it , not the 2018 version. Same with the mech. Since it’s recreated from the scratch, no reason to be excluded. Epic has proven that they can skip the exclusions multiple times. Same they can do here too. EvoChrome weapons were excluded because the upgrading mechanism was bugged but they got added in creative mode. Eras change
You are comparing 2 weapons to a full scale vehicle which btw is the only mech type vehicle we’ve ever had in the game. Two completely different margins. The BRUTE could very well be fixed up for OG. Doesn’t mean it’s ready for an entire ecosystem of creators.
Also. Tim is notorious for being out of the loop. One of his iconic statements was that Travis can comeback but he has NO idea on how the item shop team functions. The dude could very well have no idea how bad the BRUTE is internally meaning his statement doesn’t mean much when he’s fallen flat on promises before. Therefore trusting his word is like me saying OG Chapter 2 will happen.
In short: You are going off the fact that the BRUTE got some files ADDED BACK EARLY to the files for Season X OG. The BRUTE’s mesh isn’t even in the files currently only it’s skeleton. You are going off the idea that it’ll stay in the files after Season X OG ends. It could very well leave the files once again after that OG season ends. There is no confirmation that it’ll even have a chance to go to Creative/UEFN again. There’s not even it’s own FortItemDefintion back in the files yet. You are overshooting by a LONG shot. I want the BRUTE back aswell please understand that but with how it’s been treated and it’s history it seems like Epic wants to only bring it back when they are required to. I don’t want to fight I just don’t want people like you to see Season X OG and immediately assume the BRUTE is battle ready for an entire ecosystem/sandbox.
You can just accept the facts. If you have opposite evidence about it you can show them here. Did you search Fmodel? As for Tim Sweeney his job is the technical part, not the selling part. And you just admitted that epic games brings things back only if they’re required to do it. Here they are. Season X OG? Remember?
I don’t agree with this being a bug report, however the brute was not removed due to bugs but rather that they initially did not intend to update it to the new physics engine.
Please show me anywhere you see The BRUTE’s mesh in these images and or Item Definiton. The main things the brute WOULD NEED to be back in the files currently. Your bug report is banking on the impression and idea that the BRUTE is FULLY in the files currently and is just not appearing in the game itself. Therefore the bug report itself is incorrect.
Also you are putting words in my mouth. I’m saying that Epic is only bringing the BRUTE back because it was a part of Season X. The upcoming season they are rerunning in OG. NOT that it has a fighting chance of being in the Creative/UEFN ecosystem???
While there were physics issues Epic would’ve fixed them and thrown it back in. Not let scraps of it rot in the files and remove the core files that made it work in the first place out of the game.
Many people back during it’s time in the lootpool of creative reported countless issues with it. Epic took it out and has only been seen briefly in CH2S8 and in prescripted sections of Collision in Chapter 3. Other than that it has been absent from the files for nearly 4-5 years.
They wouldn’t add it back in creative mode because the game was moving in unreal engine 5 . Chapter 2 Season 8 was at unreal engine 4. Also the Salvaged Brute was the Season X one but with different textures
Epic doesn’t rebuild OG related items from scratch. They migrate from their original builds because they have everything archived. They get it wrong most of the time cause their team is most likely not accustomed to how Epic worked in past Chapters.
They don’t remake anything besides things they WANT to remake such as Shadow Stones being Havoc Stones and the time of day being completely wrong. That’s their choice. The BRUTE is a fundamentally complex system that will literally just be migrated back probably touched up so that it works in OG/Figment and called a day. I doubt OG with how it’s treated has sparked a magical code rewrite of the brute. Epic cares about OG but to fundamentally go through the trouble of rebuilding an entire clunky mess of a vehicle is something they wouldn’t do at all.
They do, all the weapons, items and vehicles are on “figment” and when they’re under “Figment” means that they’re recreations. As for Havoc stones it has to do with lore, also they didn’t add any of these because their abilities are already in creative mode with other ways
Yes, right now because they have to recreate it from the scratch for the new engine. As for its complexity, we already have the Titan tank that driver fires the cannons and gunner fires the turrets. Thing that is already complex . Also we have the new reboot van that revives you. Also complex
Sorry to break it to you but Figment Weapons are duped versions of the guns with their stats modified and models changed and then renamed to Figment. They don’t go through every gun and do some changes behind the scenes they just dupe compare stats of the weapon and if it looks different. Makes those changes and move onto the next.
No recreations or remakes at all. Just simple stat changes and design changes built off the old files they have archived. They aren’t recreating it from scratch. They are either migrating and renaming or duping and renaming. It’s why there’s been times in the past where the items have used stats from way past CH1.
Guided Missile and Zapotron are recreations and dupes from the old ones but with their codes fixed. The figment weapons are duplications too, the baller is a duplication too, same we will have with the mech
