This question arised after a mismatch in our workflow regarding a Static Mesh. Said SM needed to be vertex painted, which was on my end but it wasn’t on my developer’s end, so in handed him over the SM exported from UE4 assuming (i dont know why) it would export the vertex paint info as well.
It didn’t. The SM landed without any vertex paint. No big deal, we just updated the project in another way, but that let us wondering: how UE4 handles vertex paint then? it seems it doesn’t stores it in the mesh.
We would like to know and to use that info later on (probably), but apparently there are no references on the matter.
Any help would be useful.
