When performing Jam Tracks, it may unexpectedly lower the BPM and raise it again.

Summary

When performing with Jam Tracks, the BPM may lower audibly, before rising back up again. Almost as if it is “catching up” after it lags behind.

Additional Notes

The video is 3 minutes long, the issue persists numerous times within the single jam session. Frame rate does not effect this issue. This issue is also not present in Jam Stage.

yep i’ve also noticied this. @thegamerside67 make sure to hit vote on your own post so that it gets seen by their bot and then put as a ticket into Epic’s bug reporting software

But you only get 300 upvotes, do they refresh after a while?

yes they get returned to you after the thread automatically close after 6 months. Also if you keep posting helpful bug reports they bump up how many threads you can vote on at a time to 5000. I don’t think the votes on suggestion threads automatically get returned but im also not sure if the votes matter as much on those.

This issue seems to have been resolved with the new update. I will continue to monitor it just in case, and if it is still an issue, I will upload another YouTube link to showcase the issue.

Update, the issue is not resolved.

Proof the update is unresolved. This is in the HUB so latency is not the issue.

Is this still happening after 40.10? If so, could we get your logs and island code? Would also be great to have a detailed outline of your steps to reproduce the issue. Thank you @TheGamerSide67!

It’s not specific to an Island code, it just happens when performing Jam Tracks for an extended period of time. The best reference I can give, is about 10 minutes into a session. It’s random, and can happen earlier if you are constantly changing the BPM or doing full song resets without stopping the Jam.

If it happens again, where would I go to get the logs?

@Flak

Sorry about that, I forgot to add the details.

Thanks.

And the more detailed reports that seems to make the issue appear more is as followed.

  1. Enter any Creative mode
  2. Play a Jam Track, I often use the Full Band to help make it faster
  3. Change the BPM of the tracks, and change tracks so they are not the same
  4. Sometimes it happens by just waiting, continue to Jam until then.
  5. Pay close attention to the drums, or set a metronome at the expected BPM
  6. Watch as the song will sometimes deviate from the set BPM when changing tracks, or replacing them with the Full Band mechanic.

I hope this helps

@Flak

Here is a new video that shows the issue as well as my logs now.

FortniteGame.log (11.1 MB)

In case it helps further here are my PC specs.

GPU; Nvidia 5070 12 GB OC MSI
CPU; Intel i7-12700KF
Monitors and Display; 2, 1080P 120
32 GB 4700mhz, 2 slots dual channel DDR5

Update, upon reading the log files, I believe I know what causes the incorrect icons to appear for songs on the wrong page.

Link to thread; Jam Emote Wheel is bugged.

It constantly calls the downloaded icons expired and out of date on startup, or it attempts to unload them if the Jam Wheel is flipping through pages too quickly, because of the memory limit.

As for the issues with Ghost Jam Tracks or the final page not working correctly is beyond me.

The issue gets worse the longer the play session persists. It now happens much more frequently. Restarting the entire client resolves the issue temporarily.

The status of FORT-1078835 changed to ‘Needs Triage’. We’ve confirmed the issue and it’s waiting to be assigned to someone to fix it.

What is the status on this? It’s been nearly two weeks now.
