Very nice @Nicobass! =)
I really like your art design and use of color. What kind of gameplay are you going to implement?

Finished a 3 week prototype level, what do you guys think?
That level is well !
I am sufficiently impressed with how effective your Smoke, Clouds and Dust are, they just look amazing.
Thanks for giving some feedback. I appreciate it. I think my friends and family just tell me what I want to hear just to get me to shut up.
It’s great that you like my use of color since I’m very color blind. I’m constantly asking if the colors look ok and what they are. It’s a fantasy game anyway, so I guess anything goes.
Since I’m working on it myself in my spare time I couldn’t go as grand as I’d like to… so I thought keeping it as an exploration/adventure/puzzle solving game would be feasible. As gameplay goes… it’s a first person game… in order to progress to the next levels you need to solve different puzzles. Most areas are very different… some of the outdoor areas are more casual. And some of the indoor, dungeon and cave areas will have puzzles also, but will be filled with more traps and other things that may want to kill you. Since it is a puzzle game… you don’t fight anything directly, but you use things in the environment to either kill creatures or distract them long enough to pass by safely.
I’m still learning new things as I’m creating the game and keep improving things as I go along. I’d love to do a full blown rpg, maybe next project, but I’ll probably have to assemble a team for that.
Anyway, thanks for the comment.
That looks really fun and I think the art design looks great as well.
well i’m a quarter of the way through the movie… my humble 11th episode of 40 (2hr movie)… btw, the attaching the camera to a cube really takes care of the camera spin problem

cheers dudes and dudettes… make a nice day
What kind of puzzles are you putting in the game? Logic, physics or something else?
They vary greatly. Depending on the level. A couple are shown in the pictures I posted. The one with the pot for example… it’s hard to see but in the smoke is an image, and when you are close enough to it a hand the will come out of the pot and grasp at it… basically that is an item that you need to offer to the pot… there are 3 which are hidden throughout the level. The other picture with the orb and laser is your typical laser and mirror puzzle. I do have a couple physics puzzles… one rather elaborate one that is very similar to a marble run. You need to stand on certain squares on the floor that operate different mechanisms that allow you to get a ball down to the bottom and roll to hit a switch. I wanted more physics puzzles, but I found that they fail at times… which is fine I guess, but i’d just have to put some sort of reset for the puzzle if they something didn’t work right. In other areas you have to destroy spiders for example… in the room I have a switch that turns on a beam that last a few seconds… you need to guide all of the spiders into the beam to burn and kill them before the door will open to the next area. I don’t want to give away too many of them, but I have a desert area that has giant sand worms… there are also these bad guys that will attack you when you get too close… when you guide them other the worms, they will be eaten and certain parts of the body are spit back out of the pit… you can pick up the rib cage to use later because farther down are raptors that will attack you unless you put the rib cage on a stone nearby… instead of chasing you they go to that so you can get by them.
At some point i’ll put a longer video together showing some of the many puzzles throughout the levels.
Hope that helps.
is an underwater cave sequence I am building.
level takes place inside a moving submarine.
The cruise is about 10 minutes long.
So you have that amount of time to find what you need to find on the boat and explore it.

For physics actions it’s really important to have good static meshes, velocity, damping and collision settings. It takes a lot of work to fine tune the settings. If something weighs very little or a lot or if it has a lot of allowable velocity weird reactions can happen. If you limit the velocity of physics objects they tend to react better as well as if you set a lower friction coefficient material so things react more normally. Destructible meshes are a lot of fun and would be good in a puzzle game, there’s actually a lot of potential with controlling damage spreading (objects can be hidden inside destructible meshes, on top of destructible meshes or whatever you can think of).
Finished up piece!
Time to move onto the next one

Hello everyone,
're some screenshot of our UE4 scenes. We do project to study UE4 and we’re glad to receive all of your comments to make the things better.
Please reply to our thread if you have any suggestions. I’m new to UE4 but I’m happy to answer any questions (if I know the answer haha).
