I wanted to share that in the beginning of 2022 I started putting together a small team to create a game concept called EALOND - a coop medieval fantasy siege survival RPG where players and their AI villagers gather, craft, build, and defend their settlement against ever increasing waves of AI enemies known as Brogan. The game is being built in UE5.
The game will share similarities with things like Valheim, 7 Days to Die, Banished, Dwarf Fortress, Mount and Blade (combat), Life is Feudal, etc.
We are currently in Early Alpha and just launched our public discord.
You can join it here - Ealond
Feel free to come check us out and follow along! We post updates regularly.
We are currently working on our Steam page and getting ready for Alpha 2.0 which will be much more playable and ready for public testing!
Here are some GIFS and screenshots, and there is a lot more on our discord.
Hey there @Elindor ! I’m absolutely blown away by your concept.
I personally love the sort games that you described, but I love the addition of the AI villagers to help as well. It’s absolutely fascinating. The texture and setup is certainly intriguing but I’m very eager to see more functionalities and will 100% be following this project going forward.
Are there any other media channels you’re posting it on or is it just through your Discord server?
We just launched ourselves publicly, so at this point we are focusing on growing our public discord and that is where we will share most things.
However we will of course be getting a website splash page up later and starting to post in Reddit and Youtube etc. Primarily though we will always point back to our discord though as that is just a great way to build and engage with a community!
Thanks for your interest! Definitely join our discord and follow along.
I’m excited to announce my latest UnrealEngine project is now Live and available in the Unreal Marketplace! I’ve been working on 2 projects for the last 6 months, here are some screens of the second project that just launched (still working on the first project):
Hey there @Afflictor ! Welcome back to posting with us here in the forums, we’re happy to see new projects from you!
I will also say I love the textures on these statues and certainly admire the variety. I love seeing the way time weathers on a statue, but it’s always so refreshing to see some fresh looks that give a just created piece as well!
Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Keep it up!
I started the project several months ago as a way to better learn UE, i’ve already thinkered with some vr scene and small archviz tests but i never had a chance to really learn developing a game.
I’m a solo dev and i’m mixin’ some Marketplae stuffs with my own modeled ones, it’s a pretty exiting and rough at time ride, let me tell you XD
Yesterday i ulpoaded the first major update that add a lot of new features and fix some others, well hope you guys like it as much as i get repayed of the frustration every time things allign perfectly on screen as i hit Play, cheers!
Hey there! Thanks a million weathering and natural aging on statues is always fun to make in substance painter and such a good story telling element. It was fun making these and sharing them here. I can’t wait to share what I’m working on now.
I second their notion! This water-flowing/simulation (Fluid Flux) is indeed one of the best systems out there. It doesn’t quite get more realistic than that; thanks for the quality share, @catz111!
Texturing doesn’t have any ‘boring’ parts that make me think ‘hey! that’s all one solid color!’. Good details, not many, but enough. Like Ringo said, “it’s what you don’t play…”.
Specularity looks good, but screams fresh-coat-of-paint; I’d like a little more rough on it. Military don’t tend to coat things in shiney-shiney (increases visibility).
Need a video in action to check recoil, etc, but as a model, it looks good to me. What kind of game?
Thanks for the feedback. Surely I will be adding imperfections to the model. This is a plugin that users would be able to use for creating autonomous turrets that shoot targets. Regarding the video I will soon be adding.
No worries. And on the model, I only offer opportunities, not negative-criticism. It looks great the way it is, but anything can always be made better.
