Weird water shader behaviour

Hello guys!

I’m using UE5’s built-in water material (M_Water) since I’m not good at working on shaders and I just noticed a weird behaviour when moving the camera around.

  1. When looking at the horizon, the water reflects better, but when looking directly at the water, it starts to be very blury.
  2. There are some dark spots at the edges of the camera that only apply to the water material.

I’m not sure if I have to change the lighting or the relfection nodes to fix this, so I thought it would be better to ask here.

Good reflections are screen space reflections and black edges are part of this effect. Blurred reflection is skylight cubemap. This is how an engine works.
