So I made a normal world position offset for some wind stuff and i get this problem.
In the normal viewport it’s all shaky and weird, but when I play it’s all smooth.
Very weird stuff, please look at the clips and maybe some of you knows a solution.
Have you modified any of the ‘Framerate’ settings within the Settings > General Settings > Framerate menu?
There are some known and reported issues with WPO (World Position Offset) causing some flickering when applied to landscapes, which could be affecting your issue.
I will run some tests using your set up to verify the report.
These are my settings. I messed around with it but I couldn’t get a goot result.
It would be weird either way right? I’m working with a time based offset, so framerate wouldn’t do anything right? I’m not sure anymore.
Yeah, it more than likely is not the cause of your issue, but I wanted to see just in case you modified those settings. I will create a test asset using your wind noise implementation to see if I can reproduce your results.
You are welcome. Would you mind providing me with a screenshot of the rest of your material editor graph to make sure I am not missing other inputs or nodes. I am also taking a guess that the outcome in the initial image is getting plugged into the normal input of the material in question?
the lerp goes strayed in to the wpo. I hope that’s enough and otherwise let me know and I will provide more.
I also noticed that it’s sometimes jitters less prevalent then other times. I don’t know what’s going on, it’s pretty weird. The clip is from a heavier moment, it’s not always as big of a difference.
ow yeah, this is the noise texture I’m using. It’s nothing special
Could you provide me with a simple project with this material function and material so I can make sure I am not missing anything. I want to make sure our test cases are identical so I can reproduce the issue you are reporting.
With that said, I do appreciate the screenshots and the additional information I requested.
That is quite interesting that it vanished! I am glad it is resolved in any case. If you do in fact get the issue to occur again, send me the project via a private message on the forums and we can investigate further.
