Apologies for the delay, thank you for reporting this issue, it doesn’t appear there have been fixes made in this area recently but you may still want to test in 5.6. I’ve created the following public issue for tracking Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE\-291821)

Hello, I can confirm this crash also happens on 5.6 when trying to add a virtual bone. Any updates on this?
