[VERY CRITICAL] Fortnite Servers (All Modes) Targeted by DDoS Attacks

Same situation on my end, and it’s clearly worrying for the future of the community, both for RP and Fortnite.

You might want to have them reopen this issue

Hi, why was this thread closed? This is a really critical issue.

The original thread you mentioned is not the same problem at all. It’s not about item duplication, but about server DDoS attacks on all platforms, not just PCs. While the original thread also mentions DDoS attacks, they are clearly two different issues. Don’t ignore this, because what’s explained in that post is literally possible in every game mode within Fortnite. @Flak

I have also been affected since May 2025; malicious players write 3,2,1 in the chat and then the game crashes. Players run in place and are completely kicked out of Fortnite, which requires a restart. Players reported that the perpetrators also bragged in the chat about having done this in BR and Cups (whether that is true, I don’t know). I see this not only as a big problem for creators, but also in general for Fortnite/Epic Games. I have been saying for years that the connection to Discord with Fortnite is not healthy, as too much nonsense can be controlled from there.

The thread was not closed. The ticket was marked as a duplicate of another issue. The team is working on it. Because of the sensitive nature of this issue, you may not see many status updates.

I totally understand the confusion!

This was already being said in 2025, and the issue still remains. I hope this is taken more seriously now.

Thanks for the clarification, but there’s likely an important distinction that should be made.

Even though this ticket was marked as a duplicate of FORT-1071521, several players here are describing behavior that is different from item duplication.

In this case, the issue is not about duplication, but rather:

  • forced game crashes

  • players being kicked out of matches

  • an apparently intentional trigger

This suggests either:

  • a different exploitation method

  • or a variant of the original issue with a different impact

And this impact is critical, especially in social mode and competitive mode, as it could allow malicious players to force other players out of the game.

Even if the root cause is related, the consequences are not the same, and this might deserve separate tracking — or at least confirmation that this specific variant is being addressed in the current investigation.

Thank you :+1:

Hi, this critical vulnerability has been affecting Fortnite for a long time and it’s becoming increasingly critical. I really hope it gets fixed soon.

I believe you and the entire Epic Games team are likely already aware that many players and creators have noticed a significant drop in player activity since 2025. Numerous creators, including those in recent forum discussions, have reported experiencing similar issues during this period, which naturally raises the question of whether there could be a connection between these situations.

Try to put yourselves in the position of a regular player who simply wants to log in, enjoy the game, and spend time on a creative map they are used to playing. Being suddenly kicked from a session — sometimes repeatedly — or feeling that malicious players may be able to exploit vulnerabilities or interfere with servers creates frustration and damages the overall experience.

Even if not every incident is directly related to security problems, the perception of instability or lack of protection can be enough to push players away. Many will simply move on to other games where they feel these kinds of disruptions are less likely to happen.

Perhaps most of us are not major creators like STEAL THE BRAINROT, but we are all an integral part of the Creative community. We all have players who log in every day simply to play our maps, support our work, and be part of the ecosystem that makes Fortnite Creative thrive. When technical issues or disruptive behaviors affect our maps, it doesn’t just impact one creator — it affects the entire community and the players who trust our experiences.

The community is not asking for perfection, but for reassurance, transparency, and visible action to maintain trust.
Could you please provide:

  • Clear communication about measures being taken to secure Creative sessions and servers

  • Improved detection and enforcement against malicious behavior

  • Regular updates regarding reported issues affecting players and creators

We appreciate the work that has gone into the game and we simply want to be able to play and create in stable, fair, and secure conditions. Thank you in advance for your attention and for any steps taken to improve the experience for everyone. @Flak @Bug-Reporter

Please take action quickly on this extreme problem. My map crashed several times yesterday. I have already sent the logs along with the name of a player to my Success Manager. After he joined, the map crashed. Other players have reported the same to me: The person joined and the map crashed. I have been experiencing this since last year (with a pause in between where nothing happened), but now it’s happening massively again.

Hard agree. The smaller creators all help play a role. Please fix the servers and update their security.

I would really like to help move things forward on this issue.

Unfortunately, I don’t personally know many creators who could share this post directly. But I’m thinking that some of you might know other creators who are experiencing similar problems and could join the discussion.

If that’s the case, please consider sharing this post (or the original one), voting, or leaving a comment to describe what you’re seeing on your maps. The more feedback we gather, the easier it will be to show that this is not an isolated situation.

Maybe what we also need, as creators, is a bit more mutual support and communication between us helping each other report issues, share information, and stay informed.

In the meantime, we understand that investigations and fixes can take time. We simply hope that Epic will keep us updated and work toward resolving the problem as soon as possible.

Thank you to everyone who takes a moment to contribute. Even small actions can make a difference for the whole Creative community.

I agree. What I don’t understand is, if I have a player who announces in the chat that they will crash the map, and I forward the evidence, why is nothing done against this person as a first step? Besides, I consider the connection between Fortnite and Discord to be very bad and it will harm Fortnite even more; there are too many security loopholes. Too much nonsense has been done and is being done on Discord, like account-pulling, DDoS and more
