Using textures as IES light profiles

Hello everyone,

my aim is to apply a pattern to a spotlight which shows water reflection like here:


I’m not sure if I need a IES light profile for this or if I can simply apply and animate the texture itself in blueprints. I think the main problem is the animation of the texture. The gif above shows an example from the HPL engine where I set the texture as a gobo (a .dds texture).

Light Function is what you are looking for.

You can animate(Panner, CustomRotator, etc.) any texture inside a light function material and achieve that affect.
