Try to disable Kaspersky’s firewall, it solved the problem for me (I’m also behind an hardware firewall)

Hello, everyone
I’m having the same error. I do not use Kaspersky and

But all that does not solve the problem… please help me!

Hi HO NGOC KHOA,

I’m sorry to hear the entitlement is causing you trouble.
Are using another anti-virus?
One that is not in this list already

 • McAfee Enterprise
 • Kapersky Antivirus
 • Teamviewer
 • Akamai Netsession Client
 • Norton

If so, let us know , so we can investigate.
Did you do anything different from usual install process?
What version are you using?

If you can give me a little more information , i may be able to help you

Cheers

MC

Same problem here, UE4 4.19, Kaspersky…
Read all this topic, uninstalling the antivirus is not a solution, this is a workaround.
Topic created more than 3 months ago and still no solutions for this?
May I ask you if you are really working on it? 3 months… It’s not like if you were a little company with few developers… 700 employees in 2018.
What is happening here?

This problem just appeared for me.
No virus software (defender only), I opened the ports, read all of the suggestions, but nothing works and I can not import new datasmith files created with 3ds Max 16.

I updated to 4.19.2 this past week. Until today, everything was working fine. I tried to open datasmith files this morning and it would not open…14 hours later, and the computer was on all night rendering Max files, so I doubt anything was changed on the computer.
“Something went wrong. We were unable to verify your access to the plugin before timing out.”

Hi Guys,

I had a similar problem, getting the same error message "

Something went wrong. We were unable to verify your access to the plugin before timing out". My solution was to restart my system and it worked out. So…maybe try that?

Hi, I encountered this problem and resolved by restarting the launcher.

I have been in the habit of switching my machine to standby with the launcher still active. Restarting the launcher seemed to re-authenticate and the problem disappeared.

I had the same issue when using NordVPN

We are actively researching these issues. With 4.20, we have added special analytics to see these issues occur, which is the first step in understanding. The big problem is that we can’t duplicate it internally, even Kapersky works fine for us, so there is something else going on.

Please be patient, we know it is frustrating and please log and insights or solutions on this thread. Ellis

You can also file a report as it helps us know who is going through this and we can run some tests with you:

It’s possible, we haven’t had a report of that yet.

I was able to use datasmith until yesterday when I updated the plugin. Now I am also getting this: Something went wrong. We were unable to verify your access to the plugin before timing out.

This can be caused by various things not under our control. If it is persistent, then it is something you should report.

If anyone uses Bullguard and is having this issue… I found that adding a new rule for the ports in Windows Firewall, and adding the domains in this link to my Bullguard safe browsing whitelist solved the issue
https://unrealstudiohelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Firewall-Whitelisting-for-Unreal-Studio-access

here’s something else to add to the list. disabling ExpressVPN enabled datasmith entitlement check. latest 4.20.03 engine version and Datasmith installed.

If nothing above seems to solve your issue, you might be like me and have been disabling plugins to reduce the project size. Turns out if you disable the TCP messaging (or it could be the UDP messaging, I didn’t test individually) plugin, you’ll get this failure even though everything else will check out. Re-enable those and you should be good to go.

Thanks everyone for helping others figuring this out (and us). We are still searching for repeatable problems to debug with, but we haven’t found any internally.

I have tried absolutely everything in the troubleshooting guide, reinstalling the launcher, reinstalling the engine, signing out and signing back in again, uninstalling and wiping out Akamai NetSession Interface, Teamviewer, using phone tethering instead of a router connection, you name it - I’ve done it and I still cannot get my first Datasmith import to work without receiving the message “Something went wrong. We were unable to verify your access to the plugin before timing out.” not once, but twice when I press “Import Datasmith”.

There must be another way to get it talking, every connection is green, my ports are open. I’m at a loss here and I know a lot of visualisers who are experiencing the exact same or similar issues with this one problem. I experienced this problem on multiple machines both at work and at home, and yet my Unreal Studio Beta license says “active”.

I just noticed this thread reappeared today. Just so you know, I’ve been successful in using CAD through Datasmith for the past few weeks, until just earlier today when it gave me the error while attempting to verify the access… I would wager that, as this thread has been updated after a couple weeks of inactivity, that there may be something wrong with the service at the moment. (My thread is located here: Unreal Studio - Entitlement Check fails when attempting to Import CAD file - Pipeline & Plugins - Epic Developer Community Forums, and was opened a couple of hours prior to the last post in this thread.)

I have the exact same problem as Kromenoi. two error messages saying “Something wen’t wrong, we were…etc”. Is this a temporary bug ?

Same problem here. No kapersky or antivirus. Working fine until today. Having twice the error “Something wen’t wrong, we were…etc” every time i try to import.

Edit: before the error, i have a connection problem with the Launcher. Appears to no be online. But now everything is ok and still not working.
