Summary
Epic Games Launcher 20.3.5 shows no engine versions in Unreal Engine > Library, on an account that already holds the Unreal Engine entitlement (private repo access to github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine is confirmed). The “+” and “Install Engine” buttons do nothing, and the launcher log reports “found 0 entitled apps” and “Loaded 0 item files” on every start.
What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
Platform Other
Steps to Reproduce
- Install the latest Epic Games Launcher (20.3.5) on Windows 11 and sign in with the affected account.
- Open “Unreal Engine” in the left sidebar, then the “Library” tab.
- Observe that the “Engine Versions” section is completely empty.
- Click “Install Engine” (top right) and also the “+” button next to “Engine Versions”.
- Neither control produces any response, and no Unreal Engine version ever becomes available.
Expected Result
The Unreal Engine Library should list the available engine versions (e.g. 5.5, 5.6), and clicking “Install Engine” or “+” should let me select and install one. This account has already accepted the Unreal Engine EULA (I can open https://github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine), so the entitlement should already be present.
Observed Result
The Unreal Engine Library stays completely empty. “Install Engine” and “+” do nothing. On every launcher start the log reports:
LogCommunityPortalAppManager: EoshState = WaitingForBuildsAndItemFiles
LogCommunityPortalAppManager: LoadItemFiles: Loaded 0 item files in 0.0 secs
CustomLabelPublisher: Entitlements changed. Custom label access: False.
LogCommunityPortalOSS: Display: …found 0 entitled apps
Tried with no effect: full clean reinstall of the launcher (several times, 20.3.5 from the official installer, signature verified), deleting all launcher caches, signing out and back in, restarting the EpicOnlineServices service, resetting the install directory ACLs, waiting 12+ hours.
