As you can see in the screenshot, the shadows from the dynamic point light pass through thin walls, how can this be fixed? I tried changing the values in shadow bias but this caused artifacts
I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, I’m new to the unreal engine and don’t really know how to set up lighting
Welcome to the Unreal Engine Community Forum. This type of thing is fairly common. You can use thicker walls or either reduce the radius on the dynamic lighting. That will generally resolve the issue of it getting through the walls. (You’ll see this a LOT on doors and windows sometimes. It can be a pain) Let me know if that fixes it! Thanks.
Right on. If it still lingers, I’d consider moving the light back and reducing the distance. That usually helps. Lighting and walls can be tricky in terms of positioning. There’s some YouTube guides and such that I used originally that were helpful to me. A lot of them were community based. It’s worth a look/search if you plan to do more of these types of projects. I’m glad you were to get some relief on the issue at least!
