Summary

Since the OG update I have been unable to open UEFN. I have reinstalled Fornite and UEFN multiple times and even run a clean install of Windows 11 and recovered my PC. I have also installed Unreal and opened that successfully to rule out a hardware issue

The UEFN loading dialogue box reaches 100% and opens a default map. I have deleted all maps. Then the New dialogue box opens but never loads and the screen goes blank and reports the following crash log;

The status of UCB-1155 incident has been moved from ‘Awaiting Validation’ to ‘Needs Triage’.

I’m having this same issue. Have you found a fix for it yet?

I haven’t yet unfortunately. I tried a few hardware tests and checked the RAM etc but still no joy. I hope that each new update might reolve it, but no.

This sounded like a similar issue so hopefully this might help solve the problem.

I was able to somehow fix this exact problem by doing everything in every forum and by going to the Epic Games Launcher > Library, selecting the three dots on the Unreal Editor for Fortnite, clicking Manage and in the Launch Options write: -d3d11

I had also written that line in my Settings > Fortnite > Additional Command Line Arguments. But, it seems that that doesn’t carry over to UEFN.

I also did all the Tdr in Regedit rigmarole. Maybe that also helped?

I updated everything and disabled all firewalls and anti-viruses, no dice. For me, it wasn’t overclocking or overclocking interfaces, or the latest/older NVIDIA Drivers (Game Ready or Studio), or NVIDIA settings, or a different monitor, or faulty RAM, or compatibility settings. It’s just that I had to wrangle the DirectX11 access for UEFN very specifically. Nope, fiddling with [D3DRHIPreference] in the GameUserSettings.ini file didn’t work either.

Hopefully this will help people in the future.

Setting the launch options to -d3d11 fixed everything for me
