Unable to "check out" using Perforce with UEFN? *edit this is not a bug/resolved

Hello, I have Perforce connected (via DigitalOcean) and I am unable to check out anything?

I have the UEFN project connected to P4V - it connect automatically when I click to open the .uefnproject file locally inside the perforce folder.

When I check out anything in P4V it does not update in UEFN -, I am unsure if this is a bug or something I am doing wrong - any help greatly appreciated!

For reference here is a video of me trying to check out the .umap with no luck - it seems to be showing in P4V but not in UEFN

Thank you in advance!

EDIT TO UPDATE:
This is not a bug, I had P4V set up incorrectly - I will work on a step by step guide which I will share here shortly.

(what I did wrong was pointing to the location of the project when adding new workspace - instead of copying the file to Perforce through the windows file explorer which worked perfectly  )

Checking out should be done within UEFN, right click the files you want to check out and there should be a source control menu with check out.
UEFN will also handle checking out files if you forget to (It will want to check out on save)
P4V at this point is just used for getting latest changes and also committing .verse changes.
When getting latest always have the project closed.
To commit .verse files right click them in p4v and click “Add” to add to change list, then “Submit” to well, submit it.

That all makes sense. However, we are not seeing the option to check out assets through UEFN… It seems to me that the issue is that UEFN and P4V are not communicating. Any suggestions on how to address this issue?

Provided p4v is running, your “Depot” and “Workspace” are in sync and source control is connected in uefn, it should work. Could you elaborate more? Any errors or something you expect is there but isnt?

Oh and are you using a host like Digital Ocean or Assembla?

We are using Digital Ocean.

Ok, will need some error logs to find out what’s happening.

In UEFN can you go to Window>Message Log and copy paste everything from the source control section.

Also, in p4v, screenshots of your Depot & Workspace directory structures would help, and errors in the p4v log if any.

Sounds good. I was helping boost this for @kyleDev. Sounds like the issue got fixed. I’ll check with them to see how it was resolved. Thanx for the assist.

He was DM’ing me is how he got it resolved  We got there in the end.

Somebody with more time than me should make a bespoke UEFN/Perforce guide, the existing materials are not ideal.
