As some folks have mentioned here and in other topics, a reliable path for resolving the crash is to reset all local user and editor settings.
Disclaimer: While this will stop the editor from crashing and preserve all of your core project data, you will lose any local editor customizations and settings you’ve made (such as the layout of editor windows) and some data cached for your convenience (such as your project panel being sorted by most recently accessed) will be reset.
If you’d like to proceed with this path, please take the following steps:
- Open Windows File Explorer
- Paste
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\UnrealEditorFortnite\
into the address bar and replace “[USERNAME]” with your windows account username - Press “Enter” to navigate to the folder
- Create a zipped copy of this folder to your desktop to back it up (just in case of any issues)
- After the backup is complete, delete the contents of the folder
- Attempt to relaunch the editor
Please let us know if this works for you!
