UE5: "Landscape Physical Material Needs to be Rebuilt"

I think I may have found the actual issue.

I started my project on mobile, then I imported a texture utilizing Quixel Bridge. Every time that I assign certain quixel materials to my landscapes, this error appears to each one. I tested it out in my main project, then again in a new project utilizing the same downloaded material asset from Quixel Bridge. Both times
i got this error.

LANDSCAPE: 2 ACTORS WITH PHYSICAL MATERIALS NEED TO BE REBUILT
(Both materials were from quixel)

I don’t have an answer, but maybe this will shine some light on where to look…
Thoughts?

I was already on Selected viewport with the error, but switching to Simulate then back to Selected viewport fixed it for me as well.

It deletes the error message, but materials are still low resolution. The weird thing is it’s not just about the landscape, but other objects too. Looks like a streaming pool size problem, but it is set to zero…

but materials are still low resolution

Physical materials have nothing to do with the graphics but with physics (e.g. friction). This is a completely different issue.

This really worked, thank you! :v:
How to remove this message?

It worked for me too. Just press play, stop and go back to the editor. Perfect, thanks!

For anyone having this issue, what fixed it for me was using the play button to enter the scene instead of right click and play here. If that doesn’t work, then try building everything first and then clicking the play button.

Worked for me ! (I tried after doing others things like Build landscape, build all level …etc)

Found If you build all levels then simulate you get rid of the message, this worked on a project upgraded from 5.2.

The error message is only appear in mode"Standalone Game", I want to fix this problem rather than chose other mode.It can’t solve my problem.

LoL. it works

Thanks. This worked. Beginner as well.

This actually worked for me, though mine was in the selected viewport to start with, switching it to simulate then hitting the stop button fixed it for me.

Not sure if it’s just surprising the error now though or if it’s fixed it.

(from a 5.2 project migrated to 5.3)

Even in the UE nanite instructions they are getting the same error. (Using Nanite with Landscapes in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.3 Documentation) - they never even mention it like bruuh!

NO build all landscape here in 5.3, just build landscape, so its not going to be fixed for everyone.

Yes it solved thank you very much, i’ve fount anouther solution, i turn default camera view to cinematic then voila the error gone.

Where are you doing that ?
ty

I had to play in Selected Viewport mode, and then the error went away. It wouldn’t go away while playing in New Editor Window (PIE) mode.
