My video card is RTX2060 with updated driver, BTW

I’m having the same problem… the project loads up to above 90% and then crashes. I have Intel Xeon Gold 6134 with 8 cores 32 processors 3.20Ghz 192 GB Ram RTX2080Ti GPU

I got this error when opening the ValleyoftheAcientsproject:

Anyone with a R6xxx can run these?ndowsrunnablethread.cpp:86]

I use MSI Afterburner and Riva tuner to monitor hardware stats. Closing them both and restarting UE5 project fixed things for me.

I found this out the other day as well. Same resolution worked for me. MSI Afterburner is not compatible with UE5-EA

Thought I’d update this.

I just ran into this as well when trying to launch the Lyra Starter project and found that the issue is specifically with Riva Tuner. If you have Riva Tuner installed and it’s running, right click on it in the task bar and click Close.

After it closes, you can open the UE5 projects without any issues. I went ahead and uninstalled it anyways, but in general it’s not MSI Afterburner specifically from what I saw. It’s Riva Tuner.

I’ve noticed some machines do not have this dotNET pack installed and it’s required for UE5 to detect the installed Windows SDKs, which can lead to random startup crashes like mentioned here.

Download .NET Core 3.1 Desktop Runtime (v3.1.23) - Windows x64 Installer (microsoft.com)

Overclocking utilities might be the issue.
Some software do not react correctly with overclocking utilities.

I had updated from preview 2 to final and then had crashes every time I tried to open the editor. I removed UE5 then re-installed and it fixed it

Thanx BrUnO, that worx fine!
