TSR Smearing + In World Videos

We have some bink vidoes that play on in world screens and when we have TSR turned on, it creates a strange smearing effect when the video being played has some camera motion in it. Using a different upscaling technology like DLSS or PSSR fixes the issue. My guess is that somehow TSR is detecting motion of the in world movie as world motion and trying to do some kind of temporal reprojection on it.

Is there a way to work around this issue? I’d really prefer not to have to turn off TSR

Hello,

Have you enabled “Has Pixel Animation” in the Material? That usually helps address this kind of smearing.

In UE 5.7 there are some additional nodes for addressing smearing (Motion Vector Offset Per Pixel, Temporal Responsiveness),however it appears you are on version 5.5 so backporting these may not be trivial.
