What could cause this? The trees look fine in the editer. However, in the packaged project, the trees are not casting shadows.

Is this only in the packaged version, or does the same happen when you run it in the different play modes in the engine?
Yes, only in the packaged version. The trees arer casting shadow correctly in PIE and Standalone mode.
Hmm this is very strange… Are shadows cast if you make a new level and just add a tree in there?
Well I reimported the trees and the shadow’s back XD. Maybe it’s because I messed with the parent materials cuz I didn’t alter anything else than that. However, I do not understand why the shadow only disappear in the packaged version.
