Hi everyone, I’m the developer of RenderPass Pro, an Unreal Engine plugin built for artists who need a faster render pass and compositing workflow directly from UE.
The goal is simple: make Unreal Engine renders easier to send into Nuke or After Effects, with useful AOVs, masks, and compositing node trees generated automatically.
If you are tired of manually rebuilding the same MRQ render pass setup again and again, this plugin handles the heavy lifting for you. It’s primarily aimed at motion graphics, cinematics, virtual production, and VFX artists who need ultimate control in post-production without the tedious setup.
Main Features:
1-Click Auto-Comp for Nuke & AE: Send your rendered passes straight to Nuke or After Effects. The plugin automatically generates a ready-to-use node tree (or AE comp) in seconds, complete with properly blended layers and OCIO-aware Read nodes.
Merged Base MRQ Config: Never lose your custom project settings. Reuse your existing MRQ preset (Anti-Aliasing, CVars) as a base, and the plugin will seamlessly add its automated multi-pass jobs on top.
Comprehensive Output Passes: Automatically extracts everything you need in one go: Beauty, BaseColor, Reflections, Cryptomatte, Z-Depth, World Normal, Ambient Occlusion, Roughness, Metallic, Specular, Emissive, Motion Vector, World Position, Shadow, and Shadow Ratio (Exp.).
Smart Stencil Masks: Assign up to 8 color IDs to specific actors or objects directly in the viewport. Export clean, rotoscope-free mask layers to perfectly isolate characters, foregrounds, or specific design elements in comp.
Native OCIO / ACES Support: Apply your color management directly within the plugin to ensure a perfectly unified linear workflow from UE to post.
Multi-Sequence Batch Workflow: Queue up multiple sequences and let the plugin process them all automatically.
I’m continuously improving the plugin based on real production feedback. Upcoming research areas include better fog/VFX element separation, more advanced light layer workflows, and deeper Nuke camera/tracking data support.
I’d love to hear what kind of render passes or compositing workflows Unreal artists need most. Feedback is always welcome!
