My Launcher lags like crazy, too. Been way for a long time.
Slow overall, but especially on the UE4 Library page - some 2 seconds between click and execution.
Typing a filter into the search boxes to hide everything changes nothing in my case.
Even removing the local VaultCache entirely does nothing, either.
I have a lot of projects in my Library list (150+), which I’m not going to hunt down just to test if that’s what’s causing the lag.
Btw. why are assets and projects even on the same launcher page?
With many projects on the list, even without terrible input delay, it’s inconvenient having to scroll that far down to get to the asset list.
UX needs a lot of work.
I’m using the Launcher only if I absolutely have to.
wish you had a wish list
I would like a wish list to email you
when a product has a discount.
I would like prices to focus according to the country because in some it costs almost $ 800. by conversion
steam has good conversion tools and a good customer support is to mimic their selling mechanism.
So now that the rating system has been included what else is everyone looking to get out of the Market Place. I think we’re at a good place where we as a community can lay out our wants and desires for how the Market Place can best place to buy and sell assets.
For me the biggest is the lack of control that creators have over prices and updates. really makes the marketplace come off as hulking and inflexible. Hopefully kind of flexibility and control can be implemented sooner rather than later as competition in the Market Place picks up and we have to respond instantly to new packs that might price themselves under what’s already there. Moreover updates take way too long and some users have begun considering using gum road as a backup so that they can supply their supports with updates now rather than sooner. is completely backwards.
What does the community think? What is necessary for the Marketplace to be improved? Everyone should post their requests and I’ll keep them updated here at the top of the thread so that Epic can keep track of what updates the community wants most.
What i would really like to see as a customer is a save or wish list for marketplace items. That is glaringly missing.
its trying to LOL tell me i had 3 wrong attempts at teh cvv which is bs…and after that i went and paid my ISP bill fine…so creators wont be getting some purchases…now im goingto hunt for a new engine and migrate to somehting else cause im nto gonna waste my time and effort.
I would like to have vault categorization. I mean, I need a product list. (like a playlist of musics) Because, I have bought many products and these are becoming hard to find in vault (EpicGamesLauncher) among other products. Also hard to load. For example, I am searching for Internet Radio Scene Component but I don’t want to write words, instead, I want to click on a tab which will show me the products that are listed inside of it. For another example, Megascans products are too many, and having a lot of space in Epic Games Launcher and these are creating trouble to see others clearly. Maybe even a hide option will be good. Like in Steam (or Origin) for games. doesn’t have to be server-side. Once all products are loaded, EGL can categorize products by respecting settings save file.

Got To agree, trying to find stuff in my vault can be a huge pain, would be nice to at least be able to sort by purchase date, type (plugins, content, etc), last updated as a few suggestions, I hate it when I buy something and then spend 10mins trying to find it in my vault to actually use it, also some way to mark vault products as used or starred or something so you can see if you have already used an asset in a project

Agreed. I have +100 Vault products (and each month new cool free Marketplace stuff are added) and at point is a paint to navigate them.
For the love of god why is browsing your store such a frustrating experience? You’re selling a game engine and it doesn’t look good if you can’t even intelligently design a website. I’m constantly getting logged out, having to sign back in and lose where I was. It puts me on the main page and I have to browse back to your store, which should be featured MUCH more prominently on your main page. Then I have to take ANOTHER step from there to get somewhere useful.
The only way to change your page in the listings (and why can’t I choose how many results per page?) is to scroll to the bottom of the results. Which it puts you at when you change your page. You have to scroll all the way up, and then all the way down again to see all the listings and change the page. Really?
Finally I don’t know what it is about how caching is handled on your site but when my connection is not good the thumbnails of the results, in the specific pages and the full screen versions fail to load or stop partway. After that they will never load until I clear my cache. Think I am going to consider something I can’t see? Before you say get a better connection, yes that would be nice but I don’t have trouble ANYWHERE else and I browse many sites with lots of imagery.
is all just basic stuff. Ease of use, practicality, efficiency… all things you want in a game engine. And I am just most people browse your store before ever downloading your editor.
And no wish list? No way to watch a product and know when it is discounted? … None of is hard…
Hi where the performance? I record comparsion of scrolling in chrome and in launcheryoutube.com/watch?v=tYfD4KprUGo all in 60fps but launcher is 15 maybe. is awful.
I think the way the marketplace works is fraudulent. If i buy a pack i should be able to download it to myself into a folder. Now all i can do is add it into some project and maybe extract things out that way but thats not how one would expect things to go.

You want your assets to *work, *right? Adding them to a project is part of the process of installing them. Most of the time if you don’t follow that process you end up having fun re-linking every single little resource. Just add them to a blank project.
Also remember that you’re not permitted to take marketplace assets outside of the Unreal Engine ecosystem. You’re not buying a license to use them in Unity or some other thing. You’re buying a license to use them in Unreal Engine.

Everything you just wrote is false, please take the time to read your license agreement or at least the FAQ regarding usage rights.

Q: Can I use these products in other gaming engines, like Source or Unity?
A: Any Marketplace products that have not been created by Epic Games can be used in other engines.

Go to wherever you installed you launcher:
\Launcher\Epic Games\Launcher\VaultCache
and you can find the content there if its downloaded, that way you can move the files around.
Not something I’d suggest, but well… here we are.
I would like to have a button in the store “liked assets”. That would be very convenient . Something you’re not going to buy yet, but maybe you’ll buy it in the future. Then it will not be necessary to search for it among others.
Hi there UE Marketplace devs.
I am a computer engineer. I can use Blueprints pretty much but I am not a designer or animator. (I don’t have designing taste at all )
For example, I want to create a huge multiplayer FPS game template for marketplace with gameplay mechanics, lobbies, weapons, character etc.
But I don’t have experience to create animations, characters, materials, UI design and etc. I know MoCapOnline’s animations are good, and Bugrimov Maksim’s characters are good.
I don’t want to deal with creating those things by myself and I want to be able to add a dependency option to those contents in marketplace’s Add Product section.
For example, my huge game template product has dependecies on MoCapOnline’s animations, Bugrimov Maksim’s characters, etc.
The person who wants to buy my game template will automatically buy other contents which my content is depended on.
For other example, I have a speedo & tachometer widget blueprint or music player scene component content in marketplace right now. And some other content creator wants to create a huge racing game template but creating a procedural speedometer or in-game music player will cost extra time.
We can increase the examples. A FPS/TPS game template complete-project which depends onVlad Serbanescu’s UWORKS, Vladimir Alyamkin’s VaRest plugin or Quick and Easy’s WeaponComponent will let a designer not struggle with anything than creating Skeletal Meshes and animations. And way,
As any game director knows, creating individual features is hard but putting them together is harder work.
Of course the content creator who wants to use other people’s work, must bought the content first. Then request permission from dependant content’s creator to use it in a complete project.
I think will also make a huge impact on marketplace sales upwards.
Suggestion for a new tab alongside Description, Reviews, and Questions … Version History. would allow UE Marketplace developers to announce (in reverse chronological order) when a new build is released, along with a bullet-point list of new fixes and features. Should be very helpful for everyone to see how active a product is and also possibly be an already-available, proactive response to user questions.
I have been experiencing some difficulties with the MP recently:
preview images show very slowly if at all (i’ve a faily large bandwith and no problem with other sites)
the new layout (with black background) sometimes hides the price (using a regular firefox)
i can’t copy-paste links to preview video: a lot of links were always unclickable but at least i could copy paste the url, now i can’t, so i simply can’t go see any preview video unless i retype it manually
All in all i has become an unpleasant experience for me to browse and use the MP.
I’m using very standard hardware and software and i have a very fast connection so i guess i’m not the only one.
