It will be very nice to have “currency selection option” of some kind (if function already exist - i’m sorry, but i was unable to find it).
As for example - i am from Ukraine and to see all the prices in russian currency is very inconvinient. If you does’n have any information about UAH (Ukranian hrivnies), i prefer see prices in US Dollars or Euro.
Currently you have a CSS class on the marketplace called:
.pagination span.currentStep
It currently has the rule:
font-size: 16px !important
I would like to suggest that the rule be changed to:
font-size: 16px !important
background-color: #EEDC82
would help improve quickly knowing what page you are on without mousing over the elements to find which one is not interactive and/or looking at the offset number in the URL.
The exact color is not particularly important, as long as it is distinct from white.
Here is a chrome extension I have made that demonstrates what would look like in your browser:
How about a way to directly download assets via the web page? It seems Linux won’t be getting a Launcher anytime soon, but I’d still like to be able to download the assets I pay for.
I have a growing concern about Marketplace content that requires code/blueprint update with each new version of UE. I purchased quite a lot of content via Market place, Gumroad and Sellfy. 70% of the content I used to learn more about UE. The rest I am using in my projects and what I have noticed that porting the project to new version of UE became a tedious task due to a lot of BP/CODE Marketplace creators not updating their projects to the latest version. Some have “literally abandoned/neglected” their projects. That bothers me a lot since some Marketplace content is quite extensive and expensive, so fixing a ton of code makes me wonder why did I even purchased the solution. My sole purpose for purchasing content is to save time. We are a two man team coder/developer/level designer and 3D content designer. is my complaint.
Now I have a proposal on how to solve problem. I work in industrial software development for many years and every 3rd party library/solution I purchase has an option for annual subscription. gives a 3rd party a to make money for updating the project, adding new features, etc. is a pure WIN for both sides, since I would gladly invest in some great ideas. I suggest that to Marketplace developers that have to update their projects constantly. I completely understand if developer spends months realizing an idea and then s/he sells only a few copies which “probably” does not justifies new development or maintenance. But if s/he gets some reimbursement from annual subscription I am hoping that would stimulate a person to update the project. At least that is what I am used from other fields of software development.
is it possible to change currency in marketplace? its appears wrong. I filled in my registration info country Ukraine, but in marketplace I see all prices in russian rub its very uncomfortably

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing trouble with some marketplace products. If you see content that isn’t up to date, it’s best to inform the staff as that is against the policy (sellers must maintain at least current/direct previous versions). With that being said, you should also check with the seller to see why the content may not be up to date. The unreal engine tends to change many things between different versions which break code/blueprint based projects. In most cases developers have to figure out the changes and implement a workaround, but sometimes it requires a fix on the engine’s side. (i.e. a couple versions ago there was a bug that created black holes around environments using a point light with extended source lengths). In the case of the latter, developers would opt out of upgrading products until a fix has been implemented. Now those cases happen few and far between, but it would be beneficial to know whether the reason a product is lacking compatibility is due to negligence or bugs. If you find it to be negligence, inform and they’ll take a look into it. =)
As for your proposed solution, it’s an interesting concept and would bring marketplace products within range of how other software providers conduct business, but unfortunately subscription based products aren’t supported at the moment.

Almost all the assets I have bought in the marketplace have converted correctly when I just upgrade the project in-place in UE.
I e, it’s really no different from if I had created the assets myself, and then upgraded the engine, and let the editor upgrade the data.

What you say is true BUT a subscription option for updates would lower sales instead of actually boosting anything. A few would accept paying more but most people wouldn’t. Although subscription services with the whole cloud marketing thing for professional software is being pushed by the industry the only ones that kept getting money are those that have some unique products (Adobe comes to mind…) with competitors that can’t keep up. The 3D engines for everyone wars started just a few years ago and right now there are three major players on the market with their own marketplace. If Epic Games kept raising prices with subscriptions just to let developers/customers buying assets the right to get updates then I seriously doubt that they would see an increase in anything overall. If they were the only ones on the market then surely they could have done that immediately if they wanted to but doing so right now would do more harm than good.
What Epic Games really needs to do is change the whole marketplace content packaging model. Add compatibility layers to ensure that assets and code keeps working whatever the Unreal Engine version being used. Instead of requesting content developers to do updates the engine should have compatibility layers to automagically fix anything that needs fixing and always ensure that any asset, blueprint, C++ code and anything else being migrated gets perfectly converted without any need to manually patch it at any level.
Of course that means a lot of hard work that needs to be done by Epic Games employees but if they would do that then everything would be easier for everyone and customers that purchased anything from the marketplace wouldn’t have to worry about compatibility anymore.
My main at the moment come in two forms,… one I see a wee red circle says 6 updates go through my library and have NO clue which items need updating (it it should tag them it don’t) and two theres very little in the download option, NO refresh you vault, redownload and update product. I found because I brought “Infinitly Afordable Lanscapes” thse guys (awsome) are adding new world spaces over the next two years, updating is becoming hell on a broon stick because I can NOT redownload with out a lot of hastle all it need is an option on the dropdown (wee arrow on the right end of the button) next to add to project re-download. Thi would maybe prompt do you wish to over write, ( will down load item again replacing everything on your drive) Yes/No OR a sync system that say your local content differs from the source do you wish to fix Yes/No
I will add finally I to (as an ole bloke that does NOT code) have with buying item that are not (for me) cheap and finding that because Epic spit out version like rabbits that asset is now usless and the sellers out to lunch and has no check his/her mail for months. Sadly theres a lot that do NOT have a thread or site only email and a lot lot whos support is only off site. I’m DONE with signing into site all over the net only to be spammed by sales adds nad I DO NOT like data havesting of nature. User need to know where how they will get support so that can op out of the purchase if it’s off site, OR maybe Epic should make it manitory to have a local Epic fourm support thread accessable with the User account we have to create to get the engine

Have you checked under your Unreal Engine version (top blue icons in library) where it says Installed Plugins. It could be that plugins were updated. A dialog will pop up.

Well my concern is a few posts above, where I mention that I needed to fix a few plugins by myself so I could port the projects. I have become very very selective on which plugins I plan to use in final product. But things will sort out sooner or later. It is quite a new market and everyone will learn.
Looking for the perfect game engine for my first game! I’ve been using Unity last week and now I’m trying Unreal Engine, the Blueprints are really awesome!
I don’t have any experience in game development, but for my first game I would like to use free assets.
Unity marketplace has tons of filters for finding exactly what I need: Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making however the Unreal Marketplace barely has any options for filtering.
Can you do something about ?

I’m talking about assets that sallers update,. here just to be clear, each asset has an “add to project” and a wee drop arrow that does nothng, there is NO way to re download that asst if the saler updates it, as I said brought “Infinitly Afordable Lanscapes” thse guys (awsome) are adding new world spaces over the next two years, but redownloading it to get the updates is a pain right now. I believe you have to delete it from you vault and start over if you pay for bandwidth is costly, not to mention the total waste of time, where a sync system would update the changes adding and replacing only the file that needed to be
thread was started almost 2 years ago. But the current marketplace still lacks a lot of functionality, even though new content is continually added. The more marketplace items added the more obvious it is that the marketplace is lacking crucial functionality. Sure in the beginning with a handful of assets it wasn’t necessary. But that’s like building a 2 lane road when you know you’re about to build 10 apartment complexes and a mall along it. I’m sure it’s coming, at least I hope so. But 2 years is a long time to not make any progress. I’ll speak for myself and say I would’ve spent more money in the marketplace if the tool was better.
how can there still be no favourites / wishlist option? Steam has it and because of it, Steam has made more money off me - I am always seeing content on the marketplace that I think I’ll come back to later, but my memory is not as good as a database’s - I simply forget. Come on, you would make a lot more sales from people like me. How can such a simple thing not be implemented yet???
The community pick voting should be done from the marketplace page. Maybe a button that appears into the asset page once you’ve bought the asset or a poll that has the assets that you’ve bought that appears in the marketplace front page. way only the people who have actually bought the asset could vote for the them and it would be easier to vote from there than to come into the forums to vote. Also I think that a lot of people don’t even know about the voting, would show it to them.
Also, remove the event sale button when it’s not event sale
Hi, wanted to suggest a . I think it would be nice to see amount of sellings for each item for the whole community. Advantages of that are that first of all you will see what community likes. Also you will see what content is most required by Unreal community.
I like how Envato Markets implemented , transparency in sales helps autors and future autors to see what is trending and quality they should line with. Here is the link for examplevideohive.net/popular_item/by_category?category=after--project-files
What do you think about that ?

Couldn’t agree more, I think the biggest improvement that can be made to the Marketplace is a wishlist/watchlist.
