Hey! I was using UE4 and decided that it was time to organise my textures, so I moved them into various folders. The problem is that all materials now can’t find the according texture. Is there a function in UE4 that lets you find the textures which have previously been in use for the material slots? I would really appreciate some help in this matter! Thank you in advance…
They shouldn’t break up like that if you moved them inside the content browser. But if you did it in explorer i dont think there is an easy way to fix those references.
It only happense when i move the textures, not the materials. But yeah, I moved them in the editor.
Weird then. Which version of the engine are you using?
4.4.3 (the most recent version from what I know)
Got the same problem with 4.8.3. After I moved some stuff in the content browser, many materials were broken in the package. As the old directories still weren’t there, I had to use ‘fix redirectors’, then use force delete. Maybe that broke it. Don’t know why a simple move operation so often can corrupt a project in UE4.
In the editor they still appear but I got a whole bunch of ‘Can’t find file for asset’ and ‘Failed to load’ messages on load.
