I followed several swimming tutorials and saw that when they created swimming, they can go above water (the players head) automatically. I can’t, no matter what I do I can not get the players head to pop out of water. I tried to adjust the buoyancy and it made me go to 50 before the players head left the water but at 10, you can’t swim so a big problem. Would love to know what they did that they wont share. Thanks
It would be really helpful if you indicate us one of those tutorials.
Here is one series I watched: Unreal Engine 4 Tutorial - Swimming - Part 1 Water Volume - YouTube
Here’s another: Unreal Engine 4 Quick Tutorial - Swimming third person character - YouTube
And another: Unreal Engine 4 Tutorial - Quick Swimmable Water - YouTube
I’ll tried to go through my history to find more if necessary.
Depends on how you do things.
I have 2 swim modes. One above water, one below.
The state Above water is handled by looking up the Z world position of the water plane. You can do the same.
On tick, set the Z location of the character to be the Z position of the water plane - a custom offset you can change (a variable you customize). or 3/4 of Capsule Height.
I was thinking that logically I might need to have two modes as you talked about. Will go through it and see. Thanks a lot.
