Using Substrate materials, I notice that TSR quality seems to suffer. I notice a lot of aliasing on the edges of parts, as well as flickering.
Ive tried some Cvars such as tweaking: r.TSR.ShadingRejection.Flickering
r.TSR.ShadingRejection.Flickering.Period and others.
There seems to be less than crisp anti-aliased image quality with TSR at r.ScreenPercentage 150 with set res at 2560x1440, or r.ScreenPercentage >100 at setres 3840x2160
Using legacy materials result in crisp image quality using the same settings, so Im assuming its Substrate specific things that are needed.
My question is, I’d love some recommendations on getting the most crisp real time results using Substrate. What CVARS need to be set, etc.
Thanks so much!
Hi there,
I’m looking into your issue, but haven’t been able to reproduce the artifacts you mentioned so far in an empty project.
Since aliasing can be quite dependent on content, I will probably need you to create a minimal reproduction project, and/or show the comparison in a video recording so I can see what you mean and what the differences are.
So far the provided resolution settings are so high I struggle to see much aliasing at all, even with the AA method set to 0 (no anti-aliasing).
To clarify what you mean by substrate vs legacy materials, are you turning off substrate entirely in the project to perform this comparison? Or are you comparing materials with the legacy root nodes vs materials using a substrate front material.
