Hi,
I’m having a problem with a few of my static meshes going black after using built lighting for my levels. This is with using spotlights in a blueprint. I have tried to use UV but I have no idea how it works.
These are the things I have tried:
Editing the Light Map Coordinate Index.
Re-Building lighting over and over again.
Changing the built type from “Preview” to “Production”
Re-Importing the mesh itself.
Using point lights
Not using lights inside of a blueprint
I have no idea what the problem is. I have been testing it for around 2 months now, and I still can’t figure out how to fix it. Somebody on this thread please reply as i’ve tried numerous other people but none of them have replied.
I have thought that it is a problem with the Light Map somehow, but I can’t figure it out
Image below describing what I mean:
There are multiple possible causes for this type of problem. Please make sure your mesh has non-overlapping lightmap UVs. Next, set your lightmap coordinates to 1, and check if your lightmap resolution is too low/high (best results are usually at 128). You could also test adding stationary lights to your scene, and see how they affect the baking.
Also, checking through the community, found a similar scenario, that was resolved in the following thread, please test their solutions implemented here:
