Hey guys,
Hope you can help with a strange issue I am having!
So I have dynamic lighting throughout the level and that all works fine until I activate the split-screen mode, then Player 2 cannot see the close up lights only the ones further away.
In the pic below they are standing on the first floor and can see down to the ground floor, Player 2 can see those lights but not lights right next to him. If I move Player 2 downstairs then it is just pitch black again.
One thing not in the image, Player 1 has a torch and Player 2 can see this fine, it switches on and off as normal, it just seems to be the lighting in the level itself.
Player 1 is totally fine and can see all the lights as she should.
Any ideas what is happening here?
Any ideas on this??? If it turns out Dynamic Lights don’t work properly in split screen this is going to cause a major headache.
Nope? Nothing. Good stuff.
Hey obitomkenobi,
We typically ask users not to bump or ask for updates to their questions until roughly a 4 to 5 day period. We get a volume of questions everyday, and probability There could be a few reasons as to why this is occurring and one of them is that the player two camera has the ‘Eye Adaptation’ incorrectly set. Take a look at this setting found in the players post processing volume.
Can you reproduce this issue in a blank project?
If so, could you provide me with some simple steps to reproduce the issue on my end?
If the project is not too large, you could also zip up your Content, Config, and .Uproject files/folders and upload them to an external file sharing program like Google Drive or Dropboxx. Then you can share the link with me via a private message on the forums and I can take a look at the issue directly.
Cheers,
Hey Andrew,
Sorry, bit impatient trying to get this working
Will give this a whirl when I get back and let you know how I get on.
Tom
Hey Andrew,
So the camera settings were the issue, I had the Projection Mode on Orthographic and changing this back to Perspective fixed the problem, all the lights switch on/off as you would expect.
Is this a bug then? Assume different camera modes shouldn’t really stop lights working!
Tom
So your scene will definitely look different (including the lighting) when you are in a different camera view mode. Orthographic is meant for a planar view and will not look or behave the same as Perspective (which includes three dimensional depth). Therefore the lighting and objects in your scene will look different.
