Search through (particle) assets as text

When you do a diff on a particle asset it brings up a human readable text file that you can search through. Is there any way to search through a group of assets as text? I have to track down all the assets that are using a particular module that is crashing, and having to open each file individually is very time consuming. I don’t want to edit the text file, just search through a group of them. Even just batch exporting them as text would be helpful.

Ok, I just found my own solution:

  • Go to the top level of the content
    browser

  • Do a filter on the type of asset you
    want to search.

  • Select all those assets.

  • Right click on one of the selected
    assets.

  • Go to Asset Actions → Bulk Export

  • Export to a folder as T3D files.

  • Text search to your heart’s content.
