I’m using a laptop with an RTX 2060 graphics card, no multiple screens. Having the same problem.
Fixed it by adding -D3D12 to Unreal Engine’s shortcut launch options.
Right-click on Unreal Engine’s shortcut > Properties. Then in the “Target” section add -D3D12 at the end of the line.
Thanks for the update, I’ll test it out.
Though I do find this fix a little crude.
Yeah that fix didn’t work. Sadly
After little 1 hour of work, the bug returned.
But it was worth a try.
There must be another way to fix this
Cheers
At least it’s not after 15-30 minutes as it was before
Well that is the thing right, it various from time to time.
sometimes it takes 5 minuts, othertimes it goes really really fast
Thank you! I tried the MPO thing and switching to studio drivers but nothing worked and this was driving me crazy. Your solution fixed it for me.
The link posted above has worked for me. No problems for a week now.
I think I could relate, I’ve upgraded to windows 11 and on my second monitor, after some time, when i try to right click, the menu just closes. However when I drag it back to my primary monitor on my laptop, its fine (although not the other monitor). So to have it back working on my second monitor I would need to restart UE4.
This is still a problem in 4.27. Absolutely unbelievable.
Interesting… I have the inverse problem on my desktop. My main monitor will stop displaying the menus, so I move to secondary monitor and they work fine. Bring it back to main and they quit working.
It could be different for your desktop depending on how you connected your monitors. Because on my laptop, obviously it has a built-in primary. However build in screen connect differently to externals, since external monitors uses an HDMI or something.
If you have a VGA cable to connect from your desktop to monitor, try that.
Both are DisplayPort
So maybe try using HDMI and VGA and see if there are any differences. Also are both monitors the same refresh rate?
I found the fix!
Came from NVIDIA support forums.
I have same issue. Up until now I had to restart editor every ten mins. So far its been an hour and no issues yet!

Cheers!!
After updating to NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 461.09 or newer, some desktop apps may flicker or stutter when resizing the window on some PC configurations | NVIDIA this link does work, but keep in mind that after running the mpo_disable.reg file, a restart will be required. after restarting i no longer noticed the UI elements disappearing after clicking a menu button or any other UI.
Before I ran the registry fix, it seemed to happen after a few minutes of unreal being open, and i was forced to restart the editor to restore the UI to normal.
Seems to work!
Years later, UE 5.0.2 with latest Nvidia drivers (3080 RTX) and I am plagued with this… How in the world can this exits after so long. REG hack is not a fix, it’s a workaround at best. Nvidia/Epic, FIX THE ISSUE… sheeezzz
did not have this issue in 5.0 but in 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 this UI issue is back. Incredibly annoying bug no reason it should still exists after literal years to fix it.
still having the same issue now in 5.02… its wasting SOOOO much of my time!
I just got this issue too, find out it was caused by the “Alway On Top” option of the windows 11 Task Manager. Disable it and solved.
