Rendering in Pathtrace and Lumen with wierd Sun reflections.

Here is a Video to show u my Problem:

Hello everybody and thanks for helping. I am trying to render a video, in this case “placeholder” automotive rims. As u can see i come to an issue that i get fireflies which i cant get rid of. I am rendering everything in Path Tracer.

what i already checked:

  • Temporal Sample Count / Spatial Sample Count (16x128, 128x16, 512x1, 1x512)
  • Sample Count (512 - 4096)
  • Anti Aliasing ON/OFF
  • Diffrend AA Modes
  • DOF ON/OFF
  • (Imagebased) Lens flare ON/OFF
  • Bloom ON/OFF
  • Max Path Exposure (10-30)
  • Sun and Sky ON/OFF and instead created a new Directional Light
  • Sun and Sky LUX ( 75000 - 40000 )
  • Automotive Materials / Base Materials
  • Denoise ON/OFF
  • GLB/FBX with high precision tangent basis
  • same issue with ultra dynamic sky plugin

In Lumen i also have the same issues.

Please i need help. Thank you all!

In lumen you have the same issues? Lumen has a much more aggressive firefly filter. Can you share a lumen view please?

Thanks for your answer!! Yes, i have the same problem in lumen. Unfortunately I have to render in PT and it’s not really fireflies but always the sun that is reflected in something and then freaks out like this. I noticed that if I render Lumen without antialiasing in the movie render queue, the flickering is gone. As soon as I add the anti-aliasing setting, it’s there again.

Anti-aliasing should make that problem better and not worse. How come you have to use the PT to render? High end lumen often yields just as good results in most cases.

Do you have a HDR map in there with very high values? Perhaps any normals issues? Can you try and reprocess them as a test?
