Is it true that the rectangle light costs more performance than the other types of lights in UE5 ?
Should be on par with the performance of point lights when using shadow maps or VSM. Meaning it is basically equivalent to the most expensive light type. Performance may differ when using raytraced/distance field shadows
Though there appears to be a fun bug that causes RHIT time to go through the roof when looking at rect lights specifically.

Spotlights are the cheapest light. AFAIK this is mostly down to shadow performance, Rect/Point lights have to capture 6 shadow depths for each light when using shadow maps or vsm, spotlights only need 1.
This doesn’t mean point/rect lights cost 6x as much, but they are still significantly more expensive than a spotlight.
