Rectangle Light not working with Translucent Material

I have been working on a system that requires me to use translucent materials on flat planes. I have noticed that when being lit by a directional light, spotlight, or point light these translucent materials render just fine however rectangle lights do not seem to work properly.

I have messed with the different lighting modes in the material such as Volumetric nondirectional/directional and Surface Forward. I have also toggle “Cast Translucent Shadows” on the rect light itself.

I have been working in both 5.1 and 5.2 and they both have the issue.

This is the material I used in the demo above which has been super simplified to debug this issue.

My expected result is that the black leaves on the right should look like the green leaves on the left. The only difference currently is that the left has a spotlight above it and the right has a rect light above it.
