I exported a blender model and wanted to apply my own pixel (48x48 res, if it matters) material but something’s wrong with the model… I experimented with other Materials and Meshes and I found out that everything is alright with my material >>>
Well then, I thought, I must find out what’s wrong with my Mesh…
A few things that could help you answering my question (which would be very nice):
/// The imported mesh was way too big at 1x scale, I probably set the modeling size in blender too high…
/// I ex/imported a .fbx file
/// I made Materials in Blender, but didn’t change them at all, only so that UE4 knows where it has to put the Materials (Is this even relevant?!)
I have a few ideas what could be a problem: /// UV-Coordinates/Mapping/AndSoOn — Way too complicated for me, please don’t let this be the problem /// Texture Size (and how do I change it?) /// The .fbx file
I know, there were lots and lots of questions, but I would be so happy if anyone would help me
I’m not clear on what is wrong with the mesh? is them material not how you expect? In terms of scale, in blender there’s a scale multiplier setting in the fbx export dialogue, so you can try reducing that to some decimal fraction in order to adjust the import scale accordingly.
do U know that the models need to be scaled from blender to ue4 ? and did U import the textures as material import is not possible ? Do export the textures from blender then create material inside ue4 . Sorry but that is how I was able to interpret Ur question.
Nah, question answered…
Because of compatibility problems with UE4 (bcause I use Blender and so on) because I don’t want to pay [redacted] 3000€ a year for some 3D modelling program only because UE4 fails on importing assets as they should be imported!
I moved to Unity now, at least they know how to make USERS SATISFIED! By the way the community is much bigger and how long did I wait here? For this ONE question to get answered? Almost 4 DAYS! Felt like a week when I’m serious! I had a question to Unity, I asked it th the Forums… 30 MINUTES later someone answered my question, and it worked! 30 Minutes and 4 days… Little difference, isn’t it?
Well, I think I’ll stop hating on Unreal now, you did your job and that’s great… You tried to solve my problem, but my question was a little bit too complicated formulated… Or something like that…
Well, now I’m developing with Unity and I must say that it’s really INDIE-FRIENLDY…
Well then, have a nice day…
